Fyi, if you login for a total of 14 days throughout Season 2, you'll get a box that will let you get Ultimate Bunny, or if you have her, you will get 2 outfits for Sharen and some other misc stuff. Also get a Enduring Legacy and a Greg's Reversal. Pretty generous if you're thinking of playing at anytime in Season 2.

Had half of December off and dipped back into this. Between what you mentioned and going to the event page on their website for daily rewards, they gave a lot of free material away this past month. So much so I now have every descendant, ultimates, a fellow and all but 3 weapons crafted, some 4 stack enhanced.
I didn't realize until recently you could queue up a certain dungeon for particular rewards, and there is a little checkbox to opt in for other dungeons but with the reward set of the original. Looking forward to more QoL changes like that. Live stream with the devs happening in about ~12 hours
There have been good changes since launch, hope they keep moving in the right direction.

The ability to know your audience is key:
The reworks for Luna, Jaybe and Valby are very lackluster (though Valby got the best tweaks for sure). Adding a new weapon core system to buff ultimate weapons that have had their Ability fully upgraded looks cool. Ines is Singular / Tech, and there will be a good reactor farm for her next week at Rockfall (Ambush).

I never played it until now. When was the last time you played? Seems pretty good so far. Lots of loot, tons of upgrade options, various unlocks and so far decent mission variety and pretty good gunplay. Did it suck when it came out?

People with thousands of hours in Warframe or Destiny will/would have shit on the game at release as it wasn't as good as Destiny (was) and had a worse Shop than Warframe. So take some criticism with that in mind. Personally, I think both Destiny and Warframe suck ass (now), and I hope Bungie and DE (Warframe side) both choke on their DEI fetish.
The game has improved a lot since release, I have 335hrs played since launch and for me it is a game where I'll sink a bunch of time into in short periods. Jump in, jump out. Though I do that with a ton of games. My biggest gripe with the game is a seeming lack of sophistication with visual design (except playable characters, those are really good). So I end up getting tired of seeing that jank and nope out for awhile. =)

Yeah I am having fun so far and just linked to my PC account too so I can play on both platforms. So far I just like the questing stuff and gun play, upgrades, etc - I am not paying attention to the story at all really - just completing quests and doing side missions and such and I like the gameplay. One thing that is weird though is that with operations, especially the normal ones early on so far at least like the void invasions, sometimes the monster is dead before I even enter the game to help kill it and just collect the loot. Ha

TFD is a decent enough game in a vacuum. The reality however is that it basically stole every single base system from Warframe and did nothing to improve on them. It's not just the market, TFD gameplay doesn't even come close to the variation you have in WF. It's copy and pasted systems with some big tits put in front of them. Boss fights in this game are pretty cool but they also make you hate other players so you just grind until you can solo melt them in 5 seconds... even those end up sucking.
Comparisons of either game to Destiny are retarded.

I still play it. I'm just going through and building / leveling everything up after mostly using bunny and freyna. I also switched to Ines and fully building her out. My main goal to is kill The Defiler now.
Enjoy the campaign. I thought it was pretty good for f2p. The game when it first came out pissed people off because of the expensive shop compared to Warframe. People then compared it to Warframe or Destiny that have had years to cook. I quit Destiny several years ago and this scratches that itch. I never tried Warframe. Also, at release they had no giveaways and now they have constant giveaways which help with resources. Lastly, the devs listen to the community and have made a large amount of QoL changes because they communicate with their playerbase.

Has the monetization change any? I enjoyed it going through the campaign, but once I hit the grind or pay wall I stopped playing. Due partially to the shop. I wanted to buy something to support the devs since I thought it was a fun experience, but all the options were so crappy I just noped out and moved on.

Shop has stayed mostly the same, but the non premium outfits (and maybe some of them) are now Account wide, so all your characters can wear them. Other than outfits, there is nothing in the shop that you would be tempted to buy. All the events they have going on give out a ton of resources, and with all the QoL changes it is really easy to farm up Catalysts / Energy Activators.
The worst grinds atm, as a casual returning player, is getting a perfect set of Reactors + Components (pure RNG here) and the material to craft the weapon Core unlock item (time).
