Oh, I shared it on another forum I visit and when you do it copies the photo with that stuff on it into your photo reel. I picked the sting copy of it lol.

I’m going to try something I’ve done a deep dive on. I was reading up on some people using artist oil crayons/sticks to color their plastisol. I’m going to mess around with that tonight. I’ve already poured the tails which are white with a mirror rainbow flake and UV powder. Those are curing now and I’m going to try some purple oil paint later. If I can get the portions correct it’s going to save me a ton of money. 25 colors cost me $12. One bottle of color from the supplier I use is $8.

excited to try it out.
Hopefully it works out well. Interested to see the results.

One more batch of 7in Ribbon Tails now that I finally have the last piece of the other mold I needed for Beetle Bugs. I’ve started using the new way to color I talked about before and opted for oil paints. I was trying to create a lighter purple (because my pack came with 4 blues and no damn purple) but went darker than I wanted, so I loaded it up with some red flake and I liked the way they turned out. Some have a pearlescent white tails, some have the rest of the chartreuse tails I had left over from a previous batch, both are UV reactant.

Looking good. When are you going to start making some stick baits or senkos? I guess another question would be why wouldn't you carry the purple color throughout the table section as well. I just don't know if I've ever seen purple on white before, but hey if it works it works.

I made them for a friend that requested them. With the purple I would it through the whole thing I imagine but he wanted white tails.

Senkos will be the next mold I buy, I’ll prob order it this coming week. I want to also get a 3” grub as well.

once I get those, my next step will be to start making my own jig heads I think.

I was going to ask if you were going to do the little baby ones. I forget which technique that's supposed to be but you have a hook with a flat weight by the the eye. A Ned rig? I think that's what it is, that way you can kind of bounce bottom but when fish are really finicky and aren't targeting anything bigger they apparently really work.

I tried to tie a few different articulated flies with weight towards the tip that will have that sort of action, and I'll put a little bit of foam at the tail end to where the tail always floats up after it sinks. You can twitch it and get that little action that I guess the particular presentation is known for.

It's worked in the past, especially during colder weather for the fish are more lethargic.

You're getting fancy now. Now add some sparkle to them. Or get really fancy and add something so they make noise, yeah that's the ticket. Just kidding, looks good.

When I'm not using a senko I use a bass assasins fished over hydrilla beds. Your fishing may be totally different.

My fishing partner really liked/likes slugos. I never really cared for them. It was normally a 50/50 on who outfished the other one depending mostly on who got back ended in the boat. Of course bass assasins were cheaper.

Having said that, my two biggest bass came on back to back cast while I was in the back of the boat and my partner was fixing a very large snag/backlash. I only bring it up "ocassionally" while fishing heh, he's the one that really got me into bass fishing so I don't rub it in that much.

Made a couple dozen 2.25” Beetle Bugs tonight to try out the mold. Used a small amount of black to give it a dark smokey color without going full black, and some green flake. They are also scented with garlic oil that I poured into the mix when it was still liquid.

Things I’ll be ordering this coming week will iclude

Gary Yamamoto’s Senko. Going back and forth between a 5” and 6”…..leaning 5. Does anyone who uses them have input or preferences?

3” Twister Tail Grub

Mica powders. The oil paints I use work well but it’s hard to control amounts properly and I can measure powders easier. Also, the color variety is crazy.

larger flake glitters

I’m going to begin shopping bottom pour lead set ups and some jig head molds I want along with powder paints.

Hey now, don't be knocking a little rattle trap bead tubes. I've used them on some bigger streamer patterns, I don't know if they really make a difference but hey they're still fun to use.

Those look great, and I can't imagine you won't catch bass or any type of panfish on them with the appropriate hook.

I can tell you the best natural fish bait ever made.

1. Find some black walnuts still in the hull
2. Put in burlap sack
3. Run over sack a couple of times with car/truck
4. Tie rope to burlap sack
5. Add a little weight to sack
6. Dip sack in water
7. Collect fish that float up a few minutes later

Of course it's highly illegal because it's very effective. If you ever find a black walnut tree somewhere you will notice there's a ring of no growth around it that matches the drip line. It kills off the competition and it works with fish as well.

Do not try, just something I learned from some family from things they did back in the depression era or earlier. At least in TX it's in the fine print for legal and non legal means of fishing.

The only trick my dad ever taught me was to call the fish up. I'm still searching garage sales for old telephones with the magneto in tact. He said you could do it with a boat motor too by pulling the spark plug and attacking a long wire to it, but I never really understood that.

Tarrant, looks like you got some fishing to do. When are you test driving those things?
