Never thought about Mica being put in. I use Mica for adding to epoxy on stitch and glue epoxy/fiberglass boat builds. Learned something new.
February is the month that some of the biggest bass in TX will be caught. State record of 18.18 pounds or such was caught in February. The goofy guy that caught it swears he was bass fishing and parylayed it into a job at the TX state bass hatchery in Athens, TX where he basically does nothing but meet and great and they can say he caught the largest bass. I've heard from a number of biologist with TX parks and wildlifd that have worked with him that he was crappie fishing under the bridge with a grub tight lining it, Lake Fork of course. Biggest bass I ever caught at Fork was a whopping 5 pounds. Wonderful day, got hailed on in the boat and on the way home. We stopped for gas and my friend turned on the bilge pump and it shot water about 20 feet out the back of the boat and drowned some woman that was going into the gas station. Good times.
I always pull the plug but I guess because of the hail and rain I got in a hurry. No telling how much weight we were pulling in the boat of water, that bilge pump pissed for a looooong time, 21' basscat can hold a shitload of water. Speaking of bilge pumps I was fishing Lake Nacogdoches which is about 2,500 acres 5 minutes from Nacogdoches the town I went to college at. At a dock at someones house there was a pretty new skeeter that barely an inch or two was above the water line. I stopped and hit the bilge pump and it ran and ran and ran and finally the boat floated. Probably fucked their motor, electionics and no telling what else. It rains there all the freaking time no way I would leave a boat like that out there with the bilge not on auto or something.
Two Lake Nacogoches bass. Not bad, 5 minues from my duplex when I was in college. I spent a LOT of time fishing. These two were back to back cast when my partner who was on the front with the trolling motor stopped to fix his backlask. One stump, two fish. I miss those days. Lake Nac 5 minutes away, Sam Rayburn 25 minutes, Toledo Bend 40 minutes, Lake murvail 25 (which was like the Lake Fork before Lake Fork was built, Lake Fork 2 hours, Caddo Lake on the TX/LA border 2 hours. Umpteen other lakes. Good times, lots of fishing. My major professor asked how I studied after I set the curve on a 3 hour test. My and another guy in the class go fishing all day to relax and talk about all the dumb shit in class. For the next two years he would tell people if your grades suck go fishing lol.
