Clips from the upcoming episodes out there. still frames, etc, pretty revealing.

first we had the shot of reverse flash with both Wells, and Thawne visible. now this is of course easily explained via time travel.
but someone took another freeze frame, and /enchanced.
its Grant Gustin in the yellow suit. or at least REALLY looks like him. could also be fake, granted.
But this would then suggest back to the classic more original take. The Reverse flash is Eobard Thawne, descendant of Eddie Thawne. Who in the 25th century is a huge fan of the Flash. So much so, as to have had plastic surgery to even look like him. The identity of the "Reverse Flash" his greatest identity was never known, and not part of The Flash museum. Timetravel+Flash power accident, finds himself in the past, and goes insane when he realizes HE is the Reverse Flash.
so, then Wells is then possibly just a red herring. He could be Rip Hunter as some have suggested. or he is Zolomon/Zoom as well, and we do have 2 reverse flashes in the show already.

I dunno dude, arrow wound up restraining flash and making him look at the lights. How do you not call that a win?
What the fuck is wrong with felicity anyway? "Arrow's real name is not my secret to share", then she sits there in the man's lab saying oliver's name a dozen times 30 seconds later. She's supposed to be smart, why does she act surprised when he knows it later in the episode?
And finally, is the prevailing theory that Dr Wells is the reverse flash and a future version of detective eddie? I just put that together watching this one. How did he act around isis and eddie in past episodes?

I think more likely that Wells is a descendant of Eddie, it's quite a complicated (zany?) plot for a TV show but it does fit in with the lore somewhat.
Professor Zoom can alter his age and had surgery to make himself look like Barry Allen.
That was one hell of a mid season finale, most shows would take years to work up to that. Arrow and now the Flash sure don't waste time.

Fans have been noting the color trails for a while. and already guessed Barry is going to timetravel back and try and save his mom. Nice to see that detail confirmed.

As noted earlier, Wells is pretty much confirmed as Eobard Thawne. Making Eddie Thawne his ancestor, (and why he looks at Eddie, and saves him)
Original version. Eobard is from the 25th century, finds a time capsule with the Flash's costume and ring. Using a machine to amplify the residual energy in the suit left by the flash, he was able to get the Flash's power when wearing it. the process reversed the colors. He kills Iris, and the Flash ends up killing him.
Crisis reboot. Eobard is reworked. he is now a fan of the flash in the 25th century. Gets surgery to look like the Flash, replicates the chemical bath that gave the flash his powers. travels back in time with the cosmic treadmill. Upon arriving finds out he is the Reverse flash, and goes crazy. (the identity of the Reverse flash was lost to time) he actually thinks he is Barry. and does crazy stuff. Wally west beats him and sends him back to the 25th century.
Flash rebirth: Zoom engineers all the bad things that ever happened to barry in his entire life via time travel. killed his dog, pushed him down the stairs, killed his mom, framing his father, killed his best friend as an infant, so Barry never even met him, etc. leads up to Flashpoint.
Other Zooms
Hunter Zolomon.
A Keystone city cop. good friends with Wally west. Gets injured during a fight with Gorilla Grodd, leaving him paralyzed. Askes Wally to use the treadmill to go back and time and stop it. West refuses. Zolomon tries to use it himself. It explodes, and Zolomon gets time related speed powers. (he slows everyone else down). also goes crazy. Decides that west needs to experience tragedy to be a better hero, and trys to kill his wife too. just makes her miscarry. This Zoom is all about making the flash a better hero.
Thaddeus Thawne, Inertia.
A clone of Barry Allen. more of an Reverse Impulse. a younger version of Barry. Also crazy, steals Zooms powers. Tricks the Rogues into killing Bart Allen, Impulse. This pisses the Rogues off. The Rogues get their revenge.
Daniel West, nu52. black and red.
Iris's brother.
Black racer. Death Incarnate.

I am thinking that it really isn't Ronnie Raymond that Caitlin is seeing. Rather its Ronnie's body but either a) The other half of Firestorm is in control or b) He doesn't yet have anyone bound to him in the Firestorm Matrix and is thus very very unstable. Given his homeless appearance and overall demeanor I'm leaning more towards b).
I'm guessing that having Caitlin captured by Captain Cold is going to bring Ronnie back out and/or Cold blasts her with the gun and it does nothing to her or she manifests her Killer Frost abilities in the process. Would be an interesting twist to have Caitlin go dark after establishing the balance between Team Arrow and Team Flash.
Either way they are not fucking around with moving the plot forward and that is a good thing.
