It will only end badly if you're an idiot. Go watch the fight again. Then come back here and tell me Oliver couldn't have killed Barry if that was his intention. Do that, then we can have a ridiculous argument, if that's what you want.
oh i am not saying it like that, i meant it will end badly because these nerd discussions end up shitting up threads, before we know it somebody will chime in that superman could totally beat the flash in a race and then things go downhill. i dont want to get into a whole thing about this, i will just summarize and you are welcome to agree or disagree with it.

ok here goes, neither flash or arrow were trying to kill each other. barry was all eye raged and ollie was trying to buy time for wells to come up with something to safely stop barry as well as allow iris and that dude who looks like a young dennis leary to get away. what i am saying is if barry wanted to kill ollie, there would be nothing ollie could do about it. The Flash is possibly one of the most powerful DC characters there are and it would take another super or several to stop him. barry is still unlocking his potential, but already he has the ability to run on water, up and down buildings channel his speed into doing many other things. ollie advantage was experience, which is great, but not enough to foil someone that can see what you are doing well before you do it.

My point was, Oliver won, no contest. Half the point of the episode was that Barry still needs a lot of training. And he gets his ass handed to him quite often by people less skilled than the Arrow.

Yeah, if people wanted to discuss The Flash (at full potential) vs The Arrow, sure, Flash wins. But we were only talking about the fight in this episode.

fair enough, though i do hold reservations on how serious that fight really was, barry was raging and ollie was on defense to buy time. i will concede that if you judge the fight purely on skill and technique then ollie does win, sheer power of course goes to barry. i sure as hell wouldnt want to take one of barry's 800MPH punches.

Oliver won because he achieved his goal. If his goal had been to kill Barry, he could have achieved that as well. The biggest problem he faced was that Barry is nearly impossible to disable without killing him, which is the only reason he let Barry pummel him. Barry is powerful, but he's still learning to use it and it's usually the Star Labs team that helps him use it.

holy fuck, that was awesome and no it was no fucking tie. not even a little, flash was practically toying with arrow, the best arrow could do was try to fend him off and that failed. god what a great couple of shows. cant fucking wait for tomorrow's ep. props for felicity's top burning off.
Did you miss the part where The Flash had an arrow through his leg, and was shocked by pain?

Yeah, for me that was the moment Oliver "won" the fight. After the arrow through the leg, I don't think Barry would have been able to put up nearly as much of a fight as he had been.

Also, Felicity losing her shirt is just plain good TV.

Was that the firestorm actor guy?

I saw that scene and it never even occurred to me that was supposed to be Firestorm...
Firestorm is not made of fire. his powers have nothing to do with fire.

I thought they handled the Arrow vs Flash fairly well. I was expecting really stupid. Seriously the power level is just out of control different.

But we already know a few things. Barry is way powered down. He only bursts the speed. No, "I sense the impact of the bullet and basically stop time" going on here. if he doesn't see the arrow coming it will hit him and penetrate.
So if Barry is not actively using his speed, hes just a normal person. Arrow is experienced physically and mentally at fighting. Barry still hasn't wrapped his head around life and death, having powers makes this even worse, since its all a non-threat to him. And is very careless.

Don't forget, tonight is pt2, with Flash and Arrow on the Arrow show, against Captain Boomerang.

I think Caliane is one of the big comic book nerds, so I can see how Charlie's videos might be annoying. For us average Joes, however, his videos are awesome because they fill in lots of gaps that we otherwise wouldn't know about and point out Easter eggs that we'd otherwise miss.

I subscribed to his channel and go directly there for all of his Arrow, Flash, GoT, Gotham videos. I love it.

Using flames for the Firestorm effect is probably a bit niftier than CGI Atom orbitals or whatever. Also its quite possible that Ronnie Raymond is nuts at the moment and so doesn't have anywhere near proper control of anything so perhaps making fire was the first trick he learned when he reassembled himself.

Pretty dissapointed that Rainbow Raid..err Prism only made use of Red/Anger. The notion of the emotional spectrum and all that plus the whole idea of Rainbow really only works if he uses multiple colors. It is an interesting update to the Rainbow Raider though to tie him into the Lantern use of color=emotion.

So do we get the scenes that we missed last night tonight in part 2? There were clearly things missing.

[edit] Nevermind. It seems my local CW station fucked up and we missed out on seeing about 5 mins of the episode where the whole Ollie and Barry are talking in the field plus getting shot bit.

But worse, he's usually flat out wrong about the shit he says.

But I think he's right on the eyes. The red eyes is a trait of Zoom. I think he is right, that it will come up again, as possibly his powers being involved in driving Zoom crazy, as well as "stealing the Flash's powers" of course.

The emotional spectrum color thing was sound as well.
