Joe is awesome. I don't know if its the writing for him, or the actor, but I enjoy every scene he is in. Especially his jovial, infectious laughter. The actor who plays him is definitely head and shoulders above anyone else on the show.

I'm wondering if rather than speeding barry up to zooms speed or slowing him down they end up going with the tag team approach. Barry, Wally, Jay, Thawne etc hitting him from all sides. They have introduced a ton of people who have had speed powers at one time or another. Even Patty. It would make sense since Barry rarely goes it alone. He always has his team. It would work well with Zoom thinking being the solo fastest is the best and Barry showing him hes wrong etc.

i thought it was established that thawne is from earth 500 years in the future? i assume he is earth1 because Gideon was built by Barry. though Thawne freaked out when he saw jay garrick's Flash helmet, so yeah not sure which earth he is from.

And he was wiped from existence when his earth-1 ancestor got killed. Which is the best proof you need that he was from this version of Earth.

yeah i know what gavin was referring to. he technically never existed as per last season. still eddie is not the only thawne, he was one of them. as Eobard thawne said, eddie was the least prominent. anyway, the trailer for next week explains some of the mystery.
they are going the timey wimey, wibbly wobbly route. this is the first time thawne travels back in time, his "origin" as Joe puts it. so yes he does exist, at least in this timeline somehow

Uh...Eddie was obviously his DIRECT ANCESTOR or him killing himself wouldn't have done anything to Eobard. Unless they're going with the nature abhors a vacuum theory of time travel wherein a new version of Earth 1 Eobard is just descended from a different Thawne now. Still makes more sense for him to be from Earth 2 and Zoom managed to redirect him to Earth 1, and that's Earth 2 Gideon as well. We'll see.

Going back to the whole 'WHY THE FUCK DONT THEY PUT IN LOCKS AND SECURITY CAMERAS' theme, it seems weird that Wells was able to just effortlessly unlock Turtle's cell and murder him. That little device didn't seem long enough to reach the pineal or pituitary gland going through the nose, so who the hell knows what he tore out of Turtle's head.

Also I'm really worried about where they're going with Patty. I really hope she wasn't always intended for a brief stay on the show, if they write her off so abruptly I'll be pissed. I mean aside from the fact that she's hot as hell, she has really good chemistry with Gustin and she's really funny too.

The Patty shit at the end was really disappointing. I wanted him to tell her and have her join the team. She just meshes so well with the cast
