I can eat near endless shit and won't gain fat
I exercise often
I think I figured out your mystery, bro. Takes much longer than a week of no exercise to pack on noticeable weight. Unless you're eating like a feeder(talk to Blackyce).

Gaining muscles takes more than just calories stuffing and weight lifting. Occam's razor says you're doing it wrong. So does this guy:

While "its my metabolism" is bs

Approved. If you weren't gunning for the end-game breaking up with a lady because she lets herself go is totally valid.

Anecdote: 'It's my metabolism' = bullshit. That was the excuse of several girls I know that chunked up over the course of a few years and out of college. No, lady. It's the fact that you sat on your ass all day, didn't exercise, still drank 5 nights a week, and were stuffing candy in your face at 3 in the morning. Funny that, too- roommate was a big girl who used to refuse to eat infront of people, but I'd wake up in the morning to find hidden food containers and wrappers in the trash.
Some people really do have a much lower basal metabolic rate than others and burn far less calories doing nothing than other people burn doing nothing. They also have a harder time exercising because their body just doesn't produce as much energy and they hit the wall at a much lower level of exertion.

I have a co-worker that's like this, she gains weight on 1500 calories a day because her metabolism is fucked up, she says she has a normal body temperature of like 96 degrees, still feels tired after sleeping 10 hours, gets exhausted from even minimal exercise, and gets sick all the time. Even when she's not sick she still teeters on the sick/healthy edge because her body is barely burning enough calories to keep everything firing.

Just asking the obvious, but has she been to a doctor about this? Because that set of symptoms could be related to some pretty serious illnesses.

I don't buy it. Either you're some mutant that's found a way to hack the ATP cycle for hyper efficiency, or she's lying about the 1500 calories(shocking, a woman lying about how much she eats?!?!). Or she's diseased as Haast questions. She's probably got lupus. Honestly, it sounds like she's tricked herself into thinking she can't eat much and is now suffering from malnutrition. Is her hair falling out?

There's no question that some people have slower metabolisms. But again, it's a difference of a couple hundred calories a day. Anything more than that and they have a legitimate medical condition that is fairly easily controlled by taking thyroxine.

Yea, you're right. A Kenyan marathon runner could become an offensive lineman if he does it right. Arnold Schwarzenegger could have been a gymnast. White people could win Olympic sprinting if they learned 2 train. Genetics don't mean anything

You're using genetics' effect on body size and composition as correlation to its effect on metabolism, which is a logical fallacy.

But please point out where I said genetics wasn't a factor. It is, just not to the extreme you're suggesting.

Sounds like polycystic ovarian syndrome.

I've brought it up, but she insists its been like that for years and if she was "sick" it would have gotten better or worse by now. I obviously can't see what she eats but she'll show up in 3 layers of clothing and run her space heater when everyone is in short sleeves and still shiver. She gets winded from a single flight of stairs too, looks exhausted more often than not, and while she's overweight she's not morbidly obese.

She should see a doctor, for serious. I'm not saying she HAS a terrible disease, but it is possible.

Also, in the more likely case it is something benign like low glandular function, it may be very treatable and lead to better quality of life.

Well, she's wrong. Tell her that chronic conditions do exist. There's even a name for them: Chronic. It means persistent.

I mean she's right tho. She doesn't have the flu. But no, I find it doubtful that she's that ill as a natural state. Something is wrong. What that is and if it is treatable are two separate questions, but still. Oh well, you're not her dad. If the woman wants to suffer I guess she's got the right to suffer.

Edit: She also may know what's wrong and just doesn't want to talk about it.

I fully support the creation of a market for my poop. Especially if I get the bonus hilarity of knowing that it will be jammed up someone else's ass.
As it currently stands, most recipients *wish* it was jammed up their ass. You actually have to drink it as a thin slurry, more or less. Its not a happy time...
