Are you actively trying to find a long term relationship or just out trolling for sex right now in your life? If its the former, then whats going on with this friend is probably fine (unless one of you gets hung up on it), but if its the latter it may be damaging your ability to form relationships. Even if this woman is not directly interfering, you might be making (subconscious) comparisons between her and other women you are dating that are unflattering. I assume that since you are on a site like Tinder that it is the former.

Don't get me wrong on the Tinder thing. Fucking that woman last week after two dates is actually unusual for me. Silly as it sounds it's not really what I'm looking for, but it happened, and we clearly had no spark between us. I genuinely like to move slower with someone I'm really interested in. This is how lame that night was. I'm a single dude, new in town without many friends, she was young and cute, and I'd rather jerk off than fuck her again. She was into me, too. She started drinking wine from the time I got to her house in Berkeley at 8 p.m. and didn't stop until 1 A.M. and she was just offputting and weird.

Tinder I've found isn't quite as much the "hook up" site as its reputation is, there's obviously a lot of that on there, but a lot of women have profiles saying "looking for relationship, no hookups," etc. Now whether they mean it or not is another question. The woman I ended up having sex with had a completely blank profile with a couple of obvious "come fuck me" pictures, so there really wasn't any illusion of what she wanted.

Mind you I'm completely new to the west coast so I've been, if nothing else, trying to sort of fend off loneliness by dating, which isn't a bad thing. The woman I keep talking about is literally the only person I knew here, but I've already managed to make a handful of minor guy friends too.

I actually I am looking for a long term relationship / eventual marriage type of thing.

Clearly if I enter into some solid relationship with another woman, coming over at 10 PM and having beers isn't gonna fly, it'd have to be a little "friendlier" than that. I think for the moment we're both sort of itching a scratch since neither of us have anyone.

San Fran is going to be a hard place to form serious traditional relationships. I have a lot of friends up there and they all say the same thing. Its a great place to get casual sex, but a nightmare for building traditional relationships. Lots of drunken nerds abound if you are just looking to make some new friends, though. In fact the wife and I are going up there for the largest Warhammer tourney in the west next month and we travel playing WH around the country with a lot of that crowd. I would not want to live there, especially as a single guy, but it is a fun place to party and easy to make friends there if you are not a douche.

So we ended up kissing. There you have it. Nothing else happened as she has to get up at 6 am, and it's flo time, not that it stopped us in the past. She asked if I wanted to spend the night but we both sort of realized we wouldn't sleep well and it wouldn't make for a good day tomorrow.

She's off Friday but has to work Sat/Sun so I'm sure we'll meet up again soon.

Kinda weird though. Nice, but weird. Didn't work the first time either, but we still remained friends.
