At the entrance of most dungeons is an NPC named Echo of the Past.
Hail it and select "respawning".
Hail again and say "ready".

It will create a private instance of the dungeon for you.

So I hit 49 last night but have no idea what to do. I never made it that far in classic eq. Any suggestions on what to do? I know there are hate groups and stuff but have no idea how to get there.

How does replacing one of your 3 classes work? I might change my ench to bard, depending if bards have to twist or if their songs are permanent like buffs. I saw an npc in the bazaar that can let me redo a class, but I think I read somewhere the cost is EOMs, but I don’t even have any and no idea how to get them

Eom is their paid currency. It a dollar for 1 eom. Bard songs on your bar stay up so no twisting

posky and pohate you can get to via the portal guy in bazaar, pofear you have to run inside

once you're 50 its farm aa's/plat/gear/symp-strike & heal items/farm your legendaries primarily in hole, pofear, pohate... as you do that you can try phinny, yael, naggy, vox, ct, sky, inny in that order... start some of your epic

this whole time, in unrest, mistmoore, and lguk, i've been fighting for scraps and I could have had my own instance the whole time?????

Is there any downside? There must be, right, otherwise why would I have ever seen another person while leveling?

to be fair i didn't realize there was lvl 25+ spells on vendors until damn near 40 so theres a whole lot I just don't know...at least I figured out how to move spells around in the spellbook, i dont remember that being an original feature but it helps a bit.....kinda wish I didn't pick 3 spellcasters though, so much scrolling

no downsides to dz's (I dont think ive heard of something not dropping in dz's)... the "non-respawning" is how you'll fight bosses (or just want a chill slow exp crawl in the-hole or something) and the "respawning" version is how you farm... inside the "respawning" version any named that has longer than 2 hour respawn will not pop, so you cant farm fire giants for example in a "respawning" solb. the reason why you'll sometimes see people in public zones is cause their dz timer isnt up yet, or they see a named or something up, or they dont know about private dz's

The hole, old construct room is my go to when solo.

Right click an empty spell slot in your spell bar and it sorted there by type of spell.
Non- DZ you can farm nameds like in lguk e.g.

Damn did hate last night and got about 40aa. Crazy fast exp in a group. Did wiz/ench/dru and just bumping crits up for now. Think it's going to slow going before I become Uber powerful and can solo hate.

ok so no 2 hour+ respawns will spawn, and there is apparently some sort of timer or cooldown on being able to make an instance, and you are limited to 1 instance for your character, those are the downsides?

what is the timer for instances, I guess you call them DZs? and how do I see that? There was an expedition window that popped up when i talked to the dude i'm guessing that window? I just gotta figure out how to view that window again

i don't know if its something special about this server particularly but almost every single named was up in my DZ and they spawn roughly 2 out of every 3 times, it was rare to see the actual Place Holder..

btw i'm 42 now and LGUK besides ghoul lord/frenzy room is pretty much turning green/light blue, where do I go next and at what level? at 45 go to the hole? Never did that zone. In original EQ I lived in Lguk til 50 then when Kunark came out I lived in sebilis from 50-60.

Try right clicking on a spell gem to memorize a spell & use the drop down list.

Lockout / DZ / Expedition window can be seen with Alt+Z
2hr on respawning
13 hour on non-respawning

Go the The Hole next.
You can shrink / illusion through the stone door, and then there is a teleport/attune ring before the big drop off on the left hand side. This will make it easier to come back next time.
You can also jump in, but that takes you right to the bottom, and the Echo NPC is up near the main entrance which you need shrink / illusion for.
