Think I'm just going to give chanter/BL/druid a shot. Seems to cover all the bases... That said, I'm almost certainly going to discover some things when I start playing and end up rerolling :emoji_rolling_eyes:

Actually, anyone play a monk yet? Would I be crazy to replace the BL with a monk? Seems like I'd be losing DPS and some pretty dope buffs but maybe the monk AAs on this server make up for that??

I would go monk just because of limited spell slots and already have 2 casters. Get a hero croak and destroy with the monk.

How does multiple pets work? I've seen people using multiple for instance mage+sk pet. When I tried to summon my second class pet it said I couldn't have more than one. Is there something special I need to do or is it a level requirement? Only 8 at the moment.

As long as they are different lines you are good. Can’t have SK/necro but you can have enc/mage/bst or the like.

I'll try it with a different mage pet. I was trying with an air pet with my sk pet, and it was giving me the "only one type is allowed". Thinking maybe air is tied to undead somehow?

Ok so just hit 50 on my SK/CLR/BST, some thoughts:

A lot of you guys are familiar with the emu's and modern EQ and the host of differences but I totally wasn't so a lot of the assumptions I had were kinda off.

First of all, this is a solo/duo server, all the mobs are easier, and the raids are duoable or even soloable with the right build and AAs, so building this ultimate solo-tank was kinda not even required.

2nd I was worried about druid/wizard for Teleports originally but you can basically tp around the map from the bazaar, the cities and some basic locales, and to any zone you have unlocked the teleporter at (by running over it) so ports are not required for anything.

3rd; Class choices:

I chose Cleric for stuns, roots, and heals. The stuns are great, but I probably should of went SHM instead....more about this later but the SK has so much self healing that i'm either at 95-100% health always or if I have a bad pull and can't FD it off, the only time you need to heal is when you have like 5-10 mobs beating on you so you really aren't going to be able to get a Complete Heal off...so smaller heals or HoTs would be better.

I chose Beastlord for the slows and melee abilities, and bonus of a pet. Had I went SHM above for heals and Slows I actually should have went MNK for the melee abilities and the non-cast FD. Monk has far more benefit to my melee focused playstyle than BST does. The pet is nice (it does more dmg than I do) but I forgot you don't even get your 2nd slow spell until 50 and its like the lvl 24 shaman slow...Now BST actual playstyle I guess is proc based and it has these crazy AAs that i'm not too sure about, i'm sure it will be fine in the end, but it's not what I was thinking about when I chose the class.

I chose SK to be sort of my main Class. For plate armor, 2h weapon with snare, lots of snap threat for tanking. keep in mind i stopped playing around the time that warriors fell out of favor (around POP maybe?) and Pal and SK were basically the only viable tanks for groups, warriors were entirely dependent on proc weapons for aggro. Clearly the game has changed a lot, i don't know how warriors are or grouping is but I don't think it matters at all on this server.

So yeah I can tank as SK, I can heal as a Cleric, and I can DPS a bit with my Pet as a BST, kind of a jack of all trades but master of none.....but really what I had envisioned is a DPS SK (MNK/SK...maybe even ROG/SK) with good slows and decent heals to top off in emergencies (SHM).

But there are no bad choices really, i can still solo exp just fine just slower than some other combos, and as I unlock more of these DPS AAs maybe my opinion will change.

I also went SK/BST/CLR, fun combo and the cleric summoned hammer is so good nothing can replace it. I have the sky 2h and it's a huge dps loss over using the cleric hammer. 50-100 well spent AAs will let you clear everything except Inny, Inny took till about 250 AAs.

Pick up Bloodlust and Battle Frenzy, bloodlust will be your mini spammy cd for grinding, battle frenzy (pair it with bloodlust when you use it) is your oh shit this needs to die cd.

I like it because you can still die if you fuck up. You do have a lot of outs for small fuck ups. I'm having a lot of fun so far and the server has kept my interest.

To add to above, Pal/Rog/zerk is also insane the heal procs keep you alive, stun if you need a little breather and then face stab and frenzy does insane DPS. Can swap Pal with SK for a less passive playstyle.

My Rng/bard/mage is massive damage but can’t really keep myself alive in bad pull moments. I do triple hit with my bow very often for 700ish damage with basically no AA. Have to weave jolt in every other cast, to not take aggro. Rangers get a HoT eventually right?

the cleric summoned hammer? would of been nice to know lol. I guess i gotta go find some undead in the hole and try it out.

Where should I focus my AA? I've heard to do CA/CS first before anything?

Does battle frenzy proc on procs? or just cast nukes? cus i rarely cast nukes

I love how buffs don’t expire, and even persist through death. Outside of a dispell mob, buffing with 3 classes is a one and done. Much less tedious than I anticipated

Yeah then you remember how many caster mobs dispell (ie all of them) and then it's just tedious as fuck figuring out which of the 20 buffs you can cast on yourself that you just lost.

But no the persist full time/through death is amazing

Battle Frenzy works on procs, makes them all crit for 12s. The cleric hammer has a 75 base damage proc that works on everything that is almost unresistable and a 400 proc rate mod, so procs almost every swing. And your spell damage mod gets added to all proc damage so it really adds up. I went bloodlust and blood frenzy first then touch of the cursed to 3, soul abrasion to 3, theft of life to 3, then CA/CS to 8, at this point I could do everything except Inny. Had to fill out more damage things to do Inny like all the spell crit AAs and capping out the tap AAs.
