Just did Bristlebane after they nerfed it recently, still harder than sleepers but much more manageable. 30 minute fight with a few close calls, at 14k hp and 2.4k ac and was using a shield would still take random rounds for more than half my health.

Also just hit 60 so decided to hit up kael, cleared tormax/vindi/statue/idol and got AoW to 4% health before running out of mana, first time seeing this guy since Velious first released 20+ years ago.
so a bit more gear and more mana regen and I think he's doable, this ranger is definitely better at boss killing than my SK

Tip for anyone that hasn't messed with setting up a trader (buff bot) yet:
You can level up a toon on a second account, as long as only 1 account is outside of the Baz at a time. This means you can level up a buff bot on a second account. Since you can respec once for free, I picked DRU/ENC/WAR to level, then will switch out WAR for CLR when hitting 60. I also got a handful of AA to put into dps until 60, which will then go into extend spell. There is also an extend spell item mod to look out for.

Almost 2900 Ac and 10k hp but I still couldnt beat AoW. Got him to 19% when I was oom and died. Not sure what else I’m missing. Palladius axe for lifetap spamming celestial heal (hot) and light of life (fast heal) with symp heal 5. Thought he’d be much more doable since vulak and everything in Velious but BB and Sleepers is now ez mode.
Edit: oh and Tunare. Haven’t bothered trying her yet due to the massive add clear required.

I have 2400 AC and 8k health and basically could have killed him yesterday but died at 4% when i ran OOM. I'm using a shield for block so my mitigation is probably better and I upgraded my mask to one with mana pres III for 10% more mana.

Started up a war/rog/cle , got em up to 30, grinding AA in mistmore and still wondering how this combo will do against Nag/Vox much less the Kunark/Velious bosses. Specifically, getting smacked by bosses while trying to get heals / cures off.

I do AoW by basically spamming lowest level lifetaps while my cooldowns are down. I’m 10k hp 2400 AC. Tap tap tap tap.

Gameplay of spamming level 1 heal or lifetap is real dogshit. As is the balance of any stat besides spell power.
I really don’t like how they’ve doubled down on spell power and heal power so that every class needs it. I guess white damage is scary to them so it has to all be like you said, low level spell spam with lots of spell and heal power upgrades

Probably stupid question but what makes the lower level spells better? Faster fast speed and better dmg:mana ratio due to spell power? Factor in crits and exceptional heals and the numbers just work out?
cause 5k nuke + 500 spell power would be 5.5k but a level 1 would be 50+500 or 550? Right?

sympathetic strike works on any spell level 1 and mana cost of 10 or more so basically you can spend 10 mana to do:
10dmg+500 spell power for 510 dmg
plus 300 dmg symp strike +500 spell power for 800 dmg
so 1310 dmg total before crits with like a 1 second cast speed ie 1310 dps and you can do this forever because your natural mana regen
vs spending like 3 or 3.5 seconds to cast missing out on tons of white dmg due to casting for a 500 dmg nuke that costs 250 mana and does
500+500 + 300+500 = 1800 dmg over 3 seconds is 600 dps
its a bit different with symp healing but then you factor in all the dmg bonus and crit and its just never worth casting tbh

Again stupid question, but if you are spamming 1sec casts you are not doing normal melee hits either right? Or do you count on the global GCD thing to get a few swings in between each 1sec. cast?
Let's say we didn't have multi-class madness. If you were an SK would spamming the lowest lifetap be best or would it be better to attack so all the procs can go off?
