Unless you played EQ from 1999 and remember that the game actually had decent graphics and animations that worked and some fucking interns came in and made "new" graphics that fucked everything up, and it's still fucked up to this day.

June 99 for me. Old models were way better no doubt. Doesn't bother me enough to not play it though. I'm using the old character models and that's what I care the most about

The resulting items are in many cases very different from live EQ though. For instance, the SK and Pally epics are 1h slash here, and the ratios are 80 45 on the SK, the cleric epic has a DD proc with a mad proc rate modifier (400%ish) and a much better ratio, like 40 30 or something.

If you want to see items in the game that aren't available yet like items from Kunark onwards, just go to the baz, type /buyer, and you can search up any item from any era and see all 3 levels of it.

looks like they changed the epics and added some steps back in 2021? Lol why...20 years later? ok whatever.. following these guides, got Raster in guk in like 30min.. having a hell of a time trying to get this stupid monk in SolB to spawn though

Loaded this up. Had no idea what classes to even try. Picked warrior and then monk. Decided that was probably bad. Logged out for the night having accomplished nothing.

There is no bad combo. Warrior monk is actually really good since you get all the best defense and melee stuff combined. Throw in a bst, clr, pal, sk, heck anything really and you will roll.

I'm pal/mnk/rog and kick a lot of ass. Hatorade is war/mnk/ber and kicks nuts. All melee synergizes really well.

Yeah, surprising how well the classes synergize naturally, especially melee classes where you think there would be overlap. My PAL/RNG/ENC is phenomenal.

I think I picked one of the worst composition. Pal,Shm,Mag is just slow except undead. Will see how it does when I get some raid gear.

not really, paladin alone is better than like 75% of the class combos... pohate 2.5 is gonna be best exp even come kunark (though ill prob be in kunark, and the LoY zones since im tired of pohate)

your shammy tho prob the weakest link... maybe get another pet class since mag will boost those the most... but if you want sham then boot the mag for a rogue

welp after a few days of questing and ultimately wasting a bunch of time I finally just murdered the monk in SK for his robe and then did the Sky part, so now i'm just waiting for Kunark before I can continue monk epic. Rogue epic is also almost complete, just gotta pick pocket one more item, but we can't spawn the quest giver until Kunark releases otherwise it would already be done since it doesn't require anything in Kunark

Bst instead of shm a good combo? My Problem right now is low damage on non undead mobs. I will try to kill some raid mobs with current combo this weekend, but feels like my dps will be too low at 200 AAs.

Lmk if you figure out the dps thing. My enc/rng/pally is amazing in lguk and I'm still harvesting AAs at level 30. But once I make the jump to 50 and start trying to take out raid mobs I have a bad feeling I'm going to come up short. My non undead dps right now is... not good

Get doppleganger AA with doppleganger beckon. Almost 100% uptime and mows down mobs. Excellent dps when I can’t use slay undead

a lot of DPS comes down to AAs and gearing choices. my first character CLR/SK/BST was really low DPS, as a fresh 50 with no AA, it was taking forever to solo mobs and farm AA to get stronger. I was damn near unkillable unless I pulled too many mobs but I was just so slow in killing, it was the same at 30 in Lguk or at 50 in the Hole.

My 2nd character Mnk/Rog/War does 4x as much DPS and farms so easily, but I have virtually no sustain (heal augs + RoRZ AA) and doubt ill ever be able to solo bosses.

However my original guy with a few hundred AAs will be able to solo bosses np.

Also they just fixed some bugs with spell crit AAs were multiplying dmg wrong in addition to adding crit chance so some of the more extreme proc builds doing 4k DPS and killing CT in 6 seconds and Innoruuk in <30s have been addressed, so don't worry about comparing to that sort of standard.

but honestly i don't know shit about this game so take that with a grain of salt

Ok, killed Nagafen. It was close but will only get easier now. Time to farm raid bosses.

Ok i may need to rethink some things. I was able to kill Naggy/Vox/CT with my build, at 280 AA. CT seemed somewhat close so probably just about the right amount of AA for him but i probably could of done vox/naggy earlier. I don't think Innoruuk is even attemptable but who knows.

Is Nagafen the easiest boss? I’m only at 120aa but working on fearless AA now. Hoping maybe that’s enough to get nag and vox down to unlock Kunark for Friday?

Vox and Nagafen are both about the same, depending on your spec Vox could Cheal but its only 7500 so nbd. Clearing the room of all the ice giants is harder than either dragon. They both leash back to their rooms so you can pull their adds but you'll end up with like 10+ lvl 49/50 Ice Giants at once vs only 2 lvl 49/50 Fire Giants that guard Naggy.

You should be fine but you can always duo or group up to get the flags done

Rogue seems extremely wasted there. I imagine sham would have been way better. Access to slow and melee buffs is insane.

Rogues are not "wasted" in any combo, you can backstab from any angle with any weapon so sk/pal/zerker plus rogue is extremely popular for 2h backstabbing. Not to mention poisons, which are huge dps by themselves but are enhanced greatly by a combo with access to spell dmg/crit AAs


Slows will matter in a few expansions but for now they aren't needed
