Loved the bow, but, I hated the aiming for it. Loved playing as Ellie with her sniper.

In the hospital scene, did anyone else die ...

carrying Ellie out? I kept getting lost and the first time, I didn't know where to go, lol. It was really powerful hearing him shout, "No, no, no ELLIE!!" before being shot.

I just started, and just now facing 3-5 zombie thingies at once. I am god awful at stealth games, and completely lack the patience for it as well; this game seems to demand it. Is the whole game going to be like this?

Don't get me wrong, the locals are gorgeous, I just hate the gameplay so far.
If you're not going to have the patience to use some stealth, I wouldn't bother. I loved the game, but I'm pretty sure it will fail completely if you just want to gun your way through every single encounter. You'll get plenty of opportunities to shoot things, but guns were always a last resort for me. At least until later in the game.

My friend while playing did once. We were both like "well that's a shitty ending!"

When I'm spotted I try to slug it out, instead of outrunning them and hiding, resetting the stealth encounter :p
Yeah once you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier - keeping a brick/bottle on you is always good for a distraction. Also, smoke bombs can trivialize some of the tightly packed encounters with humans.

Best game I've played in quite some time.

Bricking or Bottling someone to stun them superpowers your melee for a couple while they're stunned too - 1 hit kills with most melee weapons and 2 punches otherwise generally.

Unable to do multiplayer right now as I'm out on a mediocre satellite connection for the moment.

Any comments on themultiplayer? Please, would really like some insight. I read the reviews on official game sites, magazines, etc. but it's not the same as my bros input, bros. Enlighten a Wakandan.

edit: Also, just a protip: Bricks/Bottles any other distraction tool can also serve as a melee weapon as a last resort if you're out of everything else. It works better than the regular melee, for instance a brick will smash a dude down in 2 hits or so. So they are multipurpose. Didn't realize this until, like I said, last resort situation. Saved my ass though, he would've killed me in a prolonged melee brawl if he had even one hit on me.

Wow, literally seconds late. Basically reinforcing Vaclav's statement above.

eXarc: Actually meant it differently - that's a less efficient way then usually throwing the item and throttling them while stunned from it - the damage they take for a few seconds while stunned is WAAAAAAAAAAAY higher. 1H kill with all melee weapons, and 1-2H kill with punches.

Can also human shield someone with it from the front as well - although a much smaller window of opportunity.

Oh wow, yeah I skimmed your post and completely missed what you were describing. I 100% agree on the stun method rather than using it as a melee weapon straight up. I had no idea you got a melee boost when the enemy was stunned. Kudos.

I'm going to finish the game soon and won't be replaying it for a loooong time because I have so much other shit to play. Would you be interested in mail-exchanging a game for my copy of Last of Us and when we're both done with em, return them to each other? I don't know how serious you were about it, but I'd be down for this. Let me know. It's a brand new PS3 version with the pre-order code still unused, you can use it if you want.

I would but I haven't bought a game for my Ps3 in forever to swap with ya. I've been trying to Redbox it with no luck. I'll probably just wait to get in in a year or so when it's marked down to $19.99 i fI cant borrow a copy before then. heh.

It's something I bumped into by accident and fell in love with.

i went and borrowed a friends uncharted trilogy and the wife is loving it so far, we skipped uncharted 1 cuz of advice and uncharted2/3 story is good so far (still trying to marathon through 3 for the weekend) i can say wow, last of us gameplay is so much more evolved, but you can really see the pedigree of the last of us from playing uncharted series.

btw i really miss my brick, i love bricking ppl.

I still really enjoyed the first Uncharted.

I hate talking about it because I feel the game shines when certain things happen and I'd HATE to spoil the story/surprises for anyone.

It's certainly not as polished gameplay wise but I still enjoy the characters/reveals and the game still looks beautiful. You can clearly see how they've grown as a company from there to here.

I haven't actually ever played through the Uncharted series. I had played a bit of the first one when I hacked my PS3 and downloaded it onto it, but I didn't get very far since I don't really care much about playing pirating games for some weird mental block reason and put it down to play games that had come out that I had bought. Felt pretty meh about the game so never bothered getting into the series (one of the reasons I don't pirate, it really ruins games for me and I feel no attachment to them).

But after how fucking Awesome The Last of Us is I decided I needed to give it another shot. I went out last night and bought the Uncharted Dual Pack for 15 bucks on a sale and played straight through the first game over the night (I did still have my save file though and was a little ways through it). It was great. I definitely do not think anyone should skip the first game, once it starts rolling it's really good.

I'm super looking forward to playing through 2 and 3 (which I have free from PS+, more awesome!). Going to be great seeing the evolution process between Uncharted 1 through the series and to The Last of Us.

I never cared much for Uncharted 1, but 2 and 3 were great. Nolan North actually voices a pretty important character in The Last of Us.
