The preview trailers even had Joel aged up to make it look like you were playing them in the ”current” time. Then in the real game they removed the extra aging because it was actually a flashback. Intentionally misleading because they knew what people actually wantedIf you know what happens in the game and know that there's ZERO chance that anything else they could do would change your mind about it, there's nothing wrong with a review even if you haven't actually played it. Especially for something like TLoU, which is at best an interactive movie. This type of game only works when the story is so good that no one minds being railroaded through a linear plot in which the player has absolutely no way affect the outcome. Even David Cage understands this, and his games (with the exception of Beyond, which deserves a score far lower than other QD games and copycats like Until Dawn) have a range of endings where people die, killers get away with it, etc. but there's always the option for the player to do everything right and get the best ending.
TLoU2 has none of that. There's one ending, and one set of plot points from start to end, and every single one of them would be like the player fucked up in the worst possible way in a game with choices. I can say with 100% confidence as a huge fan of the first game that this absolutely deserves a 0/10. Hell, I said that before I saw the actual ending so I guess it should be pretty deep in the negatives now.
The fact that Joel and Ellie stuff only happens in flashbacks is one of the worst parts of the game and a very big part of why people hate it so much. The trailers showed Joel saying "You didn't think I'd let you do this alone did you?" and made everyone think that there'd be gameplay with the two of them again, but that was a straight up fucking lie and it's actually Jesse who says that to Ellie.

Ignoring TLOU2, that is problematic. Can you have an opinion on something not really understanding it? Sure. Is it very valuable? No.
I mean, we all went off on a tangent on how Waterworld was an enjoyable flick. But lots of people got caught up on “he drinks his own pee KEK” at the time and the premise is dumb and never even watched it or gave it a chance (resulting in it being a box office bomb). And most of you guys won’t even give FO76 a chance, even though Wastelanders improved it a lot, because you made up your mind literally years ago.
Again, I’m not defending TLOU2’s shitty story choices, but “lul 0% cause tranny sex” is derp.

Nope!Well shit...way to fuck it up. Does any AAA game developer stay good? I held out hope...

You didn't specify if you believe there can be more than two genders, bigot.Heard they are remaking Planescape and every time the Nameless One dies you come back as a new gender.
When it's hamfisted garbage, yeah people will lock into it. It's political pandering for mental illness. And you're a bigot if you don't accept itThis is what I mean about people getting too locked in to the SJW/anti SJW stuff. There's plenty of things fans of the first game dislike about this one that have nothing to do with tranny related issues. Also as far as bad reviews coming too quickly, I guarantee a whole bunch were watching streams of people who had access to the game early to stream it on Twitch/other spots. As others have noted, the gameplay isn't groundbreaking in either game, most people care about the story and the characters and how they are handled.
Cleanse your palette. Doom Eternal.Well shit...way to fuck it up. Does any AAA game developer stay good? I held out hope...
Why would you cite MGS2 as though being shitbag Raiden was a good thing?Sure, it’s misleading, but plenty of trailers misdirect or create fake scenes to hide plot points. MGS2 and Avengers: Infinity War come to mind
But thats kind of the point. If they had told people in 2001 that you get to be Solid Snake for 10 minutes, and then you have to be some other dude for the rest of the game, how many copies of MGS2 would they have sold? Same thing with Halo 2. I didnt actually enjoy being the Arbiter. That was unnecessary, but at least the online was solid.I didn't say it was a good thing, I just pointed out examples of advertising misdirection to hide major plot points.
Nope!
