Lol this conversation for the 19th time? He did mop the floor with him. Zaheer didn't land shit and could only get out of the way (at best) when they were 1 on 1, and Tenzin was still winning when it was 3v1. It only turned when P'Li sniped him from the airship.

naw they were pretty even, in my opinion, tenzin should have been able to wipe the floor with zaheer, in about 20 seconds tops, not what we got, sure it was great but for a man with just self taught airbending training to be able to even come close to a "Master" in fighting is just....wrong to me, i mean go to the first series season 1 end when kitara fought the water bending master, she got p'owned pretty fast, even with him going easy on her. or toph with aang at the beginning he was getting destroyed...ditto with zuko and his sister at first. etc.
now comes zaheer, a man locked in a ~10x10 cell for 13 years, in 3-4 months can do what he is doing vs a master? that is pretty much my only gripe with this past "book"

Well, master is a subjective term in this sense. It would be like someone being best Pwnball player in the world, but there are only 4 players and the best one has been playing it for 40 years longer then the other players. Natural talent will eventually overtake the "best" guy once the playing field widens.
Zaheer did literally nothing but run away from Tenzin. After the initial exchange he realized he was outclassed and focused completely on defense and running away. Any attacks were just to slow Tenzin down so he could continue running away. Zaheer knew his friends would win eventually and then they'd be able to gang up on Tenzin. He was right. What is hard to accept about that?

Anyway I was a bit late finishing the season, but there were increasingly epic fight scenes towards the end. I enjoyed it a lot more than S2 overall.

Sadly this is probably very much the case. Granted this is because both Book 3 and 4 are part of "season" 2 for the purposes of standard contracts and the pick-up order that was issued following Book 2 (which was itself technically picking up the back half of the first season).
That having been said I do not comprehend why people at Nick don't look at the online viewer numbers for the show and realize that with Cartoon Network existing purely as a fart-joke animation house aimed at Boys age 6-8 there is a market for quality animation of the kind that used to be filled by Warners Animation.
Succinctly the show is good, their network is terrible.

Well, it is probably an issue of branding. Nick is basically trying wrestle market share from Disney channel, so the core channel has to be more "all age friendly" (although Spongebob is sort of like old school Ren & Stimpy, especially if you read between the lines).
Korra started to get really dark later on, so they figured that wouldn't mesh with their core channel. Doesn't Disney have that "older" channel they tried to do the Tron thing on and the new Star Wars thing? I'm not sure if Nick has that, although I read they aired the rest of book 3 on the companion channel Nick has (Nicktoons? idk).
I'm sure they are aware of the online ratings, but broadcast ad revenue is still king.

disney xd is the "core" channel for all, where the new star wars rebels show is going to be, etc.
very similar imo to the tone of nick. some younger skewed kid stuff, teen stuff and stuff that adults could like.
that said... i wish it was the end of sept now....i wanna see what korra does next.
and for the asami/korra/mako love triangle to resolve itself- for a bit i was thinking bolin would end up with asami but to me it looks like they all may just end up being "friends
