That video is a great example of why this game is so amazing. Everything can be interacted with to an insane point. You can manipulate the world and solve puzzles in such amazing ways that I can't even begin to describe how crazy it is.

I don't know how they'll top this game. It's like Super Mario Galaxy was for Mario in my eyes.

If you have a Wii U there's no reason not to get the Wii U version. I'll get a switch if it has exclusive games as good as Breath of the Wild.

Played this for 10+ hours now. I can't progress. There is something everywhere. Four times yesterday in 5 hours I jumped back to the same tower closest to the main quest so I could go there. Each time I ended up walking in a different direction due to shrines, following glowing blue rabbits and other things. Every damn time I look at a spot and wonder if something is there, something is there. Never spent so much time progressing so little while constantly feeling like I am progressing.... Amazing.

Not sure if it holds up (reviews and statements in this thread seems to indicate that it does), but as of now.... best open world game. Here is the world, go explore and do things.

EDIT: As others have pointed out there are several ways to do things. An example: Random non descriptive pillar that in a ruin with no apparent reason to climb it. Wonder if there is something there anyways. Climb it and see that there is indeed something on top. Can't reach it with default stamina bar. Easy solution, upgrade stamina. Possible solution that I did, looked for rocks, hit one until it was at the bottom of the pillar, found a metal chest and put it on top of rock. Got on top of them first, climbed to top and got item.

Also, don't step on the flowers to many times.

This is my dilemma. I'll totally buy a U just for this game. But if this is the only major title I will actually want to play then I don't want to pony up for a Switch.

Can someone ELI5 what I have to seriously look forward to on the Switch (other than Mario and Zelda obviously)? I enjoy open world stuff like Zelda, platformers, Dark Souls, etc. Also why is the Switch $499 in most places? I thought it was going to be $299.

Does it hold up?

I think Twilight Princess has the best final boss sequence and emotion connection to storyline, nothing beats having Zelda as a boss. Ocarina of Time has a better final boss too. I did skip the entire 5th Dungeon/Hyrule Castle by finding a sneaky shortcut though and I found 3/12 memories so I've still no idea why Link failed 100 years ago.

I also wonder if the difficulty will hold up with upgraded armor and the Master Sword. Then again maybe it shouldn't. Hard mode is on the way though!

I still want to play the game after killing Ganon so I think it does hold up.

With the WiiU you can also do the trick in the other thread (free games) and get Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade 1 - 2 and Tokyo School Mirage or whatever it is called (if you like Persona games). Doubt there will be anything for the Switch as AAA titles except the usual Nintendo ones you mentioned.

I think I've found 10. I suck.

Climb all tall places like pillars and flagpoles. The leaf vortex won't become visible until you get close to it, so can't spot them from a distance, but think I have found at least 4 in such places and I am not far into the game. Edit: First one I found was at the top of the Temple of Time, since then, climb everything.

What do I need to do to unlock 2nd set of gear upgrades? The great fairy(I only have one discovered so far) only shows red question marks for the ingredients needed.

Think you have to find the other fairies

Only reason to buy it on Switch is if you plan on having a Switch.

I bought mine for the kids, and I like being able to play Zelda at work. But everything I'm reading indicates the Wii U version is almost identical and in some ways better graphically.

I would not buy a Switch to play Zelda. I would buy a Switch to play Zelda on the go/if you have kids.

Also pick up any rocks that look suspicious (by themselves, in weird places) . You will find a lot that way

You can upgrade once for each fairy found. Once you find more than one fairy, you can go to any of them to upgrade (i.e. If you have found 3 fairys, any of those three can upgrade your gear 3 times)

I don't have a U and will need to buy either the U or Switch to play this. So I am conflicted.
