Well the U is 100 dollars cheaper and fully hacked at this point. If 100 bucks isn't a big deal and you don't really care about any other Wii U games, I would probably get the Switch. It's portable and might have some more good games in the future.

I'm playing on the Wii U.

Yeah I guess I'll prob buy a switch when the reseller bullshit craze goes down in a few months. At least be able to play additional new titles if they matter.

Just keep an eye out. Stores are getting new inventory of Switch all the time.

Eh, personally I would just get a switch if I were going to buy one or the other. Switch still has 5+ years of life left while the Wii U is dead.

If you have interest in any of the games they make (Mario, smash, pikmin, metroid, Mario kart, etc.) then you will already have the console that will be able to play the new releases

So I just went back and fought the first Lynel you encounter in Zora's Domain using 3-star Hyrule armor... His hits were only doing 1 heart of damage now. lol.

Can someone ELI5 what I have to seriously look forward to on the Switch (other than Mario and Zelda obviously)? I enjoy open world stuff like Zelda, platformers, Dark Souls, etc. Also why is the Switch $499 in most places? I thought it was going to be $299.

If you don't have either console I don't see why you wouldn't get the switch. Nothing else is being developed for the WiiU. Granted the WiiU does have some pretty amazing titles (MK8, Mario Maker, NSMBU, Pikman, DKC Tropical Freeze [best platformer on the system imo] ... heck even Yoshi's Wooly World was really good) but it seems like it would be throwing good money at bad at this point.

Because there will be 6 future titles which will run only on the switch and you'll have to dumpster your wiiu. If the plan is only to play Zelda I have no idea if he's interested in any of the other games. IMO the wiiu is a great console and well worth the purchase.

Not really. Unless you are one of the people that ends up with problems with the left joycon connectivity. Pro controller is probabaly more comfortable for most people, but the joycons on grips wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be

Yeah I noticed that armor makes a huuuge difference in this game.

Also, just realized that I don't need to stand there and try to parry the big charged laser of the mobile guardians. Just run up and hack their legs off and beat it down melee, much quicker and easier. Plus they are considered Gannon creatures or whatever so the master sword does double damage and can't break agains them (I think anyways)

When I got it I thought, finally, something that will work well against Lynels. Then I went and fought one and the MS was out of energy half way through the fight lol. So much for that.

Bloodborne is one of my favorite games. It still doesn't approach the scope and detail of TW3 for me, and that's really what impresses me about TW3 and why I praise it so often. Even now, playing through the DLCs(slowly over the last few weeks), I'm constantly impressed with just how much is going on and the detail at which it's displayed(visually, audio, the massive amount of spoken dialogue). That said, I can't really compare Bloodborne/Souls games to TW3. They are good for completely different reasons.

Yeah Souls games are completely different from this, horizon, and witcher series. Any Action RPG really. Souls should have it's own genre almost. Like the "Throw your controller in rage and want to destroy your TV action RPG genre"
