Not sure where this is exactly, but I came across a centaur (L something) on top of a mountain as I was meandering around (there were a couple of cyclops "bosses" near-ish). It took me 10-15 deaths, but I eventually mastered the dodge and got some easy reflex hits in without ever getting hit (any damage was a one shot).

The sword and shield it dropped are at least twice as good as everything else I have lol. The in-game description says they won't break easy, but I'm holding on to them in case I come across something tough like that again.

That was a Lynel. You probably fought the easy (red) one North of Zora's Domain. They are basically the hardest enemies you will face in the game and there are harder versions out in the wild. I actually just came here to post about them...

The combat ability you get from beating the Gerudo area is an absolute Lynel fight changer. I just killed a white one in two combos. Fight only lasted like a minute and I got a 5-shot bow from it.

Lynel is some EverQuest level shit. You go up there expecting to beat a dude's ass for arrows. Turns out he's going to beat YOUR ass and you better grab those arrows and run like a little bitch. Honestly you're not even meant to kill him, but if you did you should consider yourself gangster.

Also, Nintendo is trying to make me buy Amiibos again.

Decided on buying the Switch for this. When I can find one at the actual retailer price and not scalping pieces of shit. The retards "scalping" on ebay amaze me. Selling Switch at $400 or $440 (if you even sell it at all) nets you like 40 bucks after the various ebay fees and shit.

But pretty sure bundles will be up in a few months and I have plenty of games to get through while I wait.

If you can't find one now pretty much every store is reporting new shipments at the beginning of April, so it should be readily available soon enough.

The shrines around Hyrule Castle are easy (minor test of strength) and I've learned to deflect guardian beams to kill them. I wonder if you are meant to head for Castle Town early?

Well the first reclaimed memory is just south of the castle. I had a similar thought when I was running around earlier.

Holy shit this!!! If you live in a state with sales tax you are likely losing money when you factor in your time and gas.

As an example: [bcolor=rgb(24, 24, 24)]Dip shit sold Switch in WA state for $405.00[/bcolor] (Sales Tax - Renton WA 9.5%)

So assuming he paid sales tax, which he very likely did, he paid $328.49 out the door. Ebay and Paypal will set him back $52.55 making him a net profit of $23.96.....

Ebay must love these idiots.

I guess it depends on how many he has. Still wouldn't be worth it, though. But people like this typically do this type of thing on the side. There are ways around the paypal fee IIRC.

Considering how many pictures on ebay are obviously normal peoples' living rooms full of Switches. They think they'll be making bank because they're retarded. So they buy 15+ of them. IF they sell all of them at $400-450 (unlikely), gratz. You just made $300 -$500 lol. While Paypal/Ebay just made $750-$1100 off of your sales. Ebay has long been the domain for power sellers. The average joe on Ebay doesn't make shit on there. You need volume to make a buck.

While I enjoy buying shit on ebay. I basically only buy from power sellers. Which are essentially just normal companies using Ebay for the traffic. Like getting your own piece of Amazon.

I love this game:

Snowboarding for a free shield near Shada Naw Shrine in the Northwest corner of Hebra Northwest of Hebra East Summit is fun; great mini-game.

I have 60 shrines done and am hurting for inventory space since the shrines have lots of nice weapons in them. I think I need to farm another 100 korok seeds because figuring out the shrines is quite addicting but throwing away weapons or leaving them is annoying.

The entry to Korok forest and the three shrine challenges were fun and a great mechanic, and as a bonus, now I can farm static guardians for parts with impunity because I have the sword.

Farming the quarry (Ulria Grotto) and eastern islands in Akkala yields good gems for rupees (including the luminous some turn ins in Zora's Domain for diamonds).

I can't believe that I still have more than half the map to explore and two divine beasts to go (lizard and camel).

My only story gripe so far is:
I found the story of Zora's Domain touching and the world was in danger so it felt heroic, then, later, the cut scenes around the sword in Korok Forest were quite sad, but when I made it west to Rito Village, it was more like "yeah, hey whoever you are, go help that random guy deal with this annoying bird or whatever." It seemed weak in comparison.

Agree, that has been the weakest part so far for me. I am putting off death mountain still in favor of farming stuff, so no thoughts on that storyline yet. Got like 25 Farosh horns yesterday; not as fast for money as bowling but harder to mess up and it's more fun to do.

Does it matter which dungeon to do first? I am working out here in the desert. Not sure if I should be doing that one first. I have 6 hearts almost 7 and a stamina upgrade. On inventory upgrade but I can do more. But I have no idea where the marraca guy went

Nope, that's the point of the open world mechanic - just like the latest DS Zelda game - you can go about as you wish.

Story and stuff

Lynels and others, heck even gannon - the upgraded time stop ability is winmode

Story: Yeah the bird people story sucked... but they are trying to give them personalities and its just goign off bad, the hulkamania pump u up brother gorons however, its awesome lulz

I have not done anything this weekend as I have been out of town... but I look forward to downing the beasts in fairly quick order and then tracking down all the memories... having a big cooking session...then going into the castle again - if I have a ton of ancient arrows- I want to walk the entire thing... but that 2nd gate Lynel is HARSH- I went through a Master Sword charge, Royal Claymore, Thunder blade and a fire flamberg on the fucker- the little float skulls that spawn during it are annoying and mess with my tactics ;-) but I think that's the point

On clear order I found getting to, opening up and clearing the bird dungeon the easiest, then camel medium then elephant the hardest. Ironically that's opposite to the order I did them in. Salamander I had master sword so can't say really how hard it was, I just fucked it up - probably medium.

Anyone checked the area behind Lost Woods? It's pretty cool.

Got bored of finding shrines and farming guardians to get the armor i wanted so i just finished the game.

Easily one of the best games i've played in recent time, the only gripe i had with it was some of the motion control shrines and the mini golf shrines, they were more cumbersome than they were fun!

Play time was: 38 hours

9.5/10 easily

I think in terms of useful abilities I would do Rito > Gerudo > Zora > Goron on a second play through.

I'm still super early in the game, but damn this is good. Bethesda needs to look at how well BotW spaced out its trials when they're placing dungeons in the next Elder Scrolls game, and literally every other open-world game maker needs to look at how this game doesn't feel like a mindless collect-athon (even though it still actually has plenty of collectibles) and how the map isn't an utter clusterfuck of icons (oddly enough, Ubisoft, of all companies, actually did pretty good on the collect-athon thing in Watch Dogs 2, but it's a lesson the whole industry needs to learn).

Last significant thing I did in the game was find the Pool of Wisdom north of Hateno. Don't know what I was expecting to find there, but it wasn't *that*. Nice little event there.

I've had the master sword for like 4 days and I just found out you could shoot a range attack from it using R when you're at full health. Made it much more useful.

I haven't played every installment of the series, but I'm fairly certain the Master Sword doing a ranged attack at full health has been in every Zelda I've played.
