the nice advantage still of Youtube TV is that you can share with 5 family members, i have my 3 kids, sister in law, and in laws all using it so it basically works out to $20/house. I never watch live TV so don't give a fuck but everyone else does.

When they finally kill sharing it'll be a dark day, I think it and Amazon and Apple TV+ are the only streaming services left that let you share so big like that still.

every day I'm happy I built out a 100TB plex server a few years ago, i don't even need to add storage I just delete shit I watch and didn't love which is like 80% of movies and TV nowadays. With high speed internet its not that big a deal to redownload anything anyways. I pirate EVERYTHING, its so much easier than dealing with streaming apps

Only issue with that is you have to be in the same area. I tried to mooch my parents YTTV but it requires me to login down in the Tampa area once every 30 days or it cuts me off. At least that's how it worked a few years ago, haven't bothered to try it since.

We share ours with my wife's family in Illinois. You have like 90 days where you can say you're traveling before it cuts you off. It's annoying, but works.

We also only get the message after 60-90 days (not sure which). I think it just requires him to login to our account one a quarter to reset it. So theoretically you could go like 6 months before needing to do that.

Hmm maybe they changed it then. Could have sworn it was 30 days back then and I just didn't care enough to deal with it.
