Picked up 72 cans of Vienna sausage from Amazon for $30. While technically only 8 days of calories, pretty sure I could stretch that a month with 40 cans of veggies like corn and peas. Food supply $50 a month good on shelf for 2-5 years. 2 cans of that + 1 can various veggy like say cream of corn would hit around 2200 sodium which is just outside my heart suggestion but pretty sure I hit over that many days because they fill every food wit that shit. Plus I could pick up some cheap pet can tops and use the cans for bottle cap storage.
Vienna sausages are really just not that good. Spam is the god tier canned meat. Especially if you fry it quick on a pan. Make sure you don't clean the pan and pour the juices on your rice for maximum calorie intake. 1 can of spam eaten every 3 days should be sufficient to keep a low activity person alive indefinitly if you can find 1000 calories a day in almost any other form. You'll suffer a slight protein deficiency, but that takes a really long time to be fatal. A little bit of quality foraging/hunting and you'll be fine.

It's like 1 thing in a variety of hundreds of things I have. As I said before I actually eat my survival stash and am always replacing what I ate with new variety.

Any advice on water filters?

Hand held / camping size.

Preferably metal, made in US, etc.

Maybe Seychelle Portable Water Filter Camping Pump?

Would like something similiar but steel.

And anyone had expereince with the life straws? Is it a thing where I need to start sucking dick now to build sucking strength to use it? Or is it pretty easy to get water flow through them?

I love my Mini-14 ranch rifle. Be sure to get one that can handle 5.56 because some can't. Cheap, reliable, and you don't look exactly like everyone else with an AR.

I own a Mini-14 and I love it but....

In a prepper type scenario I would rather have an AR-15 if for no other reason than the ability to use other people's mags. ARs are ridiculously ubiquitous in the US and if you have to scrounge mags and parts, I'd go with an AR-15.

The AR15 is the superior rifle. As much as I love my Mini14, I have no arguments that would say that it is better than an AR15.

I bought my Mini because I have an unrealistic fascination with the action and the manual of arms. But I would never spend even a single second trying to argue that it is better than an AR, because it isn't.

If, in a prepper scenario, I was allowed only one single firearm.... it would be an AR15. For a lot of reasons.

Speaking of ARs . . .

The $289 1000rd of 62gr green tip with free shipping sale just happened on PSA.

The delivery guy earned his pay last week.

Minis and AKs are wonderful rifles and I wouldn't be 'sad' to have either.

But let's be honest, both of them are outclassed by the AR.

Allright boyos.

I have commandeered full authority for a lockdown in the event of coronavirus breakout. 1 year of stockpiled food, onsite well+septic. 12,000 gallons of diesel and redundant electrical feeds + onsite generation, weapons lockers, 3,000 square ft of living space. we have stockpiled sanitation supplies etc.

ill post pictures of my sealed buckets of food later haha

9 different fiber providers with different routes to the facility. team established.

gonna be a lot of EQ if this goes down.

Looking at this to keep my deep cycle charged without an outlet. I’m pretty lazy, so it’s only been used for the occasional HAM Radio club outing, but I’ve been meaning to get a legit solar setup for Field Day since my dad and family friend/mentor died.

Seems win/win with the Wu Flu...

i know, i know it's the apocalypse who the fuck cares about keto... but what if it's not? then i'll have a carton of meats i won't be eating. doesn't hurt.

and even tho spam doesn't have a keto version (since it's made with potato starch) i still have a few cans, i don't believe there really is a best way to have dried meat you can eat beyond vienna and spam, besides dog food.

LifeStraws are pretty solid. Easy to use, decent price, filters a lot of water.

That is an outrageous price for a 200 watt solar panel. Check Ebay. I think you should be able to get that for under $200. Maybe under $100.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. For that model you are paying for the suitcase style and the kickstand. I personally like a flexible panel with a ubiquiti solarpoint. I use the solarpoints for my WISP but the interface is top notch and so user friendly even my dad can figure it out. having a built in 4 port switch is a bonus.

Uline.com, first place i ordered form a few days ago still hasn't shipped. Ordered from Uline last night, shipped this morning.

I went for 3M 6500 masks (silicone seal is better than the cheapo model) and a bunch of 3M 7093 P100 filters.

you know for a face mask/ breathing i was thinking.....
i have 5 full face snorkeling masks...
i think with minimal effort-silicone sealer and maybe some duct tape. i could modify the snorkel so that one of the 3m p100 filters would fit snug.
