Yeah, left lane should always be moving. I'm usually going ~80 in the 65 in I-95 in the left lane. I wish cops would pull over idiots slowing down the left lane/passing lane. That said, on normal roads, I almost always go 5 over the limit. Traffic sucks down here, so it's not often I can even do that!
Also remember this, they should and will pull you over for travelling extended distances in the left lane now. I see signs all over the MA highways that they are cracking down on this. Occasionally I'll be passing someone and driving in that lane and some fuckwit will pull up behind me and clearly slam on his brakes, only to start flashing his high beams and throwing his hands in there. It's moments like those that I cherish the scenery and drive at a cool 65 MPH. If the guy to my right is going faster/slower, I make sure that we match speeds for a little bit.
If he had time to get to you while you were still passing, either A) you were passing too slow or B) you should have waited till he passed, then went into that lane.
The fuckwit is you. The passing lane is for passing. Assholes cruising in the left lane without passing and taking on their own to regulate traffic speed deserve to crash and die in an inferno. You're probably one of those passing on cruise control and taking forever to get out of the way because you are going 3mph faster than the guy to the right.
