It is just too bad that the damage was already done. It set the narrative that Zimmerman was just stopping people because they were black. NBC should at least have apologized on-air and made a big deal about it. Instead, it seems most people don't even know it happened.

You guys are absolutely right. NBC should publically abase themselves for doing a far smaller scale version of what Fox News does 24/7/365.

I particularly liked the one guy who wanted CRIMINAL charges. Nice touch.

With great power comes great responsibility, and to deny the media has great power... Then again, it's you, keep on deluding yourself I suppose.

I love how liberals only defense when they get caught red handed doing something shady is to say "well Fox news does the same thing!" or "George Bush did the same thing". Quit trying to justify the behavior by saying someone else did it first and just admit it was fucked up.

If black folks riot if GZ is acquitted, it will be because shitbags like NBC have been manipulating the story to stoke racial tensions. There is a good chance that some innocent people are going to be hurt in the process. So yes I do believe that NBC should be criminally responsible if shit like that happens.

It really is too bad that the majority of our society these days seem to be made up of the Kool-Aid drinking sheep like Duppin and Tanoomba who can only recite the talking points they have been programmed to repeat and are incapable reasonable thought.

Sure dude, no one is denying that there are ways to approach someone that might initiate a fight and it be your fault. He could have come running Trayvon yelling curse words. He could have called him racial slurs with his hand on his gun and be talking about lynching or something.

Yet any of that isn't supported by the phone conversation, any eyewitness or Zimmerman's testimony.
To be fair only Zimmerman's testimony actually covers that exact timeframe - phone was before, eyewitness after.

It has nothing to do with what I "believe" and everything to do with what I can prove. I have no evidence of anything other than what Z says. No matter how much I don't believe him, his story is the only one. We can't speculate as to what happened if we want to judge him. We need proof, circumstantial or otherwise.

The problem is, the circumstantial evidence supports Z's story...
Correct, due to "reasonable doubt" he's supported with all evidence as it currently stands - I believe he's legally innocent as everything stands at the moment - but it would only take a single piece of solid evidence to flip it around though.

But he wasn't trying to defend or justify it, he was pointing out the hypocrisy.

prosecution's star witness was pretty good. i'd like to see their solid evidence if they have any.

Actually the fact that Trayvon was the person who initiated the confrontation was backed up by Trayvons girlfriend who was on the phone with him at the time. The first thing that gets said was by Trayvon according to her ?What are you following me for?? Now according to George Zimmerman he said "You got a fucking problem, homie?" Now considering the girlfriend didn't think "Crazy ass cracka" was racist or that there was anything wrong with it I am probably not going to believe Trayvons initial interaction was so non threatening.
Personally, I've seen a fight initiated by someone on the receiving end of worse than "You got a fucking problem, homie?" - so assuming Trayvon threw that semi-slur equates to him being the one that started the fight is a stretch at best. If he even said it.

Hell, the one fight I got in personally in my life - I snapped over a single word when I was agitated, "Turd". (I was like 10 at the time though and in Catholic school [and had recently found out we were moving so all my friends were going to be lost...] - so that was a pretty harsh for what I was used to but still...)

Do you not know any hispanic people? Because he looks hispanic.
I know plenty and quite a few Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders (father-in-law's second wife was entirely Hawaiian for her side of the family and we love them [and frankly it's a great excuse to visit HI every wedding/etc on the cheap!] - he looks alot more like the latter to me.) and frankly he looks like he should be Hawaiian/PI to me.

That's a pretty aggressive way to approach someone. Especially if you are not interested in getting into a physical confrontation with them. Regardless of the exact words, the evidence does seem to point to the fact that Trayvon was the one who approached Zimmerman after he got out of his truck. That was the only point I was making.
