Yeah, someone living in Florida having a tan sure is a stretch.
Ah yes, I forgot about all that time for tanning he had while in hiding since the New Black Panther Party put a bounty on his head and then all that yard time he got after he voluntarily turned himself into police custody. Damn, florida really is the land of enchantment isn't it?

That very well may be the case. The police initially did not file charges because they did not feel they had enough evidence to charge Zimmerman with a crime. The State was pretty much forced to bring the charges after public outcry. They may be trying to throw the case. Its the only way I can justify them putting Rachel on the stand without spending the entire past year drilling into her head exactly how to behave on the stand during the trial.

Seems more likely that the prosecutor got swept up in all the media frenzy and went out on a limb with 2nd degree murder. I just don't believe that someone would overcharge someone in an attempt to let them go free. That is all kinds of levels of abuse of authority.

Oh, please. Look at how many of you have been beating the drum that Zimmerman is an angel who is being wronged by whatever liberal boogeyman. Is it really a stretch to think that those attitudes might be present in the prosecutorial ranks of the national asshole that is Florida?

I don't believe Zimmerman is an angel. I believe he was simply watching out for his neighborhood and then used his firearm in a completely legal case of self defense.

It isn't about some weird liberal boogeyman. The media clearly played up the racial angle to get more people to care, in a case of trying to one-up the revelations from other channels. That led to political pressure to charge him with 2nd degree murder. That isn't even in dispute really.

Much as you want to make this about abunch of racists and conservatives vs Duppin, there are just as many liberals in this thread that also think Zimmerman didn't deserve to go to trial for this. This isn't a liberal vs conservative thing.

Gotta feel bad for the dude pretty much. It certainly sounds like he shouldn't have gone to trial for this and ain't nobody can unbreak an egg.

I think he absolutely deserved to go on trial. I think he probably shouldn't be found guilty based on the evidence I've seen so far. But that's more about the high standard of proof required for a criminal conviction in this country (which I am 100% in favor of) than any sense that Zimmerman didn't do anything wrong.

Whoa whoa whoa, so you say he deserved to go on trial but then immediately state that you think he should not be found guilty based on the evidence... The evidence that this was an act of self defense. You have to be a troll, no one can actually believe the shit you say.

Uhh, what in the fuck do you think a trial is for?
A trial shouldn't be a fishing expedition in the hope that you get a super weak jury. It is a tremendous burden on someone to be forced to go to trial. If you aren't sure you have enough evidence to convict, just prosecuting them is an abuse.

Bullshit. The purpose of a trial is to expose evidence that can then be examined in a careful way. If the world worked the way you think it does, every prosecutor would have a 100% conviction rate.

As far as "a tremendous burden", boo fucking hoo. You know who has a bigger burden? Trayvon Martin. Six feet of dirt above him. I'm not too sad that Zimmerman is being mildly inconvenienced by having to defend himself in a court of law.

You have a warped view of the system. I hope one day you don't have to go to trial for something you didn't do, simply because a prosecutor wants to gamble with your life.
