You have to assume they did have issues. It was 17 days since Beth died. That is about 30 miles a day they moved with vehicles, so between getting fuel/water/food and running into people/things they were slowed down considerably. Just not shown. It bothered me that we have dozens of episodes where they can't seem to make it more than 20 miles from Atlanta.
30 seconds into the episode we get "Well, we've made it 500 miles without any problems, only 10 more to go!" Get the fuck out of here...
This is exactly how I felt. I was ok with him dying, but this was a guy who literally took on tens of zombies at once with a damn contractor's hammer, more than once, and yet he gets downed by a tween one who somehow walks silently? I had figured it was a jack and jill bathroom between the two kid's rooms, but in the end he was more than aware that there was at least one zombie in the house. I just don't understand why couldn't they have had him killed by maybe a couple straggling machete bandits who may have been still holed up in Noah's house? The problem(s) with walking dead have never been what they do, but rather how they do it. Once again, we have an episode leaving you with the feeling of, "eh, wtf." You want to kill Tyreese, fine... But take more than 5 minutes to come up with the how and the why. It just feels disrespectful the the characters and the audience.
Z nation is under valued/rated. The last 4-5 episodes was pretty damn good and in a overly saturated genre , semi original. It's bad when Z Nation starts to seem like the more serious, gritty, realistic, honest account of a zombocalypse. Z Nation is campy as hell at times, but TWD is starting to delve into pretentious levels of self-awareness in it's style and methods. What's worse is watching Talking Dead and the dumb fucks pat themselves on the back as they explain all the simplistic symbolism and melo-dramatic tropes they hamfistedly threw into the episode. Ooooh, wow, you mean you intentionally made the viewer think it was Beth's funeral they were showing and the hallucinations/flashbacks/bullshit was Tyrese coming to terms with blah blah blah?! Thanks forexplainingthe lazy ass writing I just witnessed?
Fuck Z Nation. I watched all of it, what nerd won't watch a zombie show, but even in the second half, it was hard to take it serious. I am convinced that the first few episodes are the worst I've seen on a TV show, bar none. It's bad when Z Nation starts to seem like the more serious, gritty, realistic, honest account of a zombocalypse. Now I wanna know what I missed.Draegan: no NSFW material outside SS.
I sort of thought the same thing. 18 months though not 5 years. I think most of it was they stayed outside the city, once there and after Beth they probably found a shitload of potential vehicles to drive. They spend 5 goddamn years wandering around a 50-mile radius in Georgia, can't EVER get any further, and all of a sudden they're going to jump in a car and drive several hundred miles up the coast to virginia like it's no big deal?
Fucking hell, dumbest thing I've ever seen in any show, ever.
This is damn near the equivalent of Walter White struggling against Gustavo Fring for multiple seasons, and then all of a sudden in one episode they just randomly mentions "oh yeah, he died of a heart attack or something, that's over"
That was one of THE biggest sources of antagonization in the ENTIRE show, they couldn't travel very far without running into major problems(people, zombie hordes, whatever) and then they just up and drive halfway up the goddamn East coast.
jimmies rustled.
