it was a little artsy in parts, but they upped the ante on some of the effects. enjoyed it a lot.

Wasn't expecting Tyreese to go before his sister.

Ultra super d00per comic spoiler for future episode

Bets on whether or not they fuck with the audience and swap which person gets killed by Negan wielding Lucille? The fact they have Glenn wielding a bat right now makes me think they are going to fuck with expectations

AMC put up some kind of survival tip and asked what would you do if your friend was biten by a zombie?

Well I would fucking bandage him before running across a subdivision looking for the sheriff and coral.

At the start of the episode I thought to myself

"They might surprise us and kill another character first show back, 'cause we won't be expecting it". I hate being right at times.

Extended dream sequences: writers love them, whereas audience generally hate them? I cannot remember anyone ever saying "man that was an awesome dream sequence." The only thing worse is musical episodes of a show that isn't a musical.

Anyway, this dream sequence was somewhat bearable since (a) he was hallucinating while dying, and (b) they cut back to the real world a lot. It wasn't in nuking the fridge territory but ... borderline. The dead characters lecturing him in the dream was cheese on par with the Lost ending though.

I'm curious as this just occurred to me..
Tyrese was checking out the house and saw a closed door with a zombie in it (heard the grunts), then he walked into bedroom and saw the dead brother on the bed and he was staring at the picture of the 2 brothers....it looks like he was figuring something out then in came zombie ...
was this the zombie that was locked in the other room that he saw? If so, how did he get out?
I was originally under the impression that he was bit by that guys brother, but the kid in the bed was his brother (or so i thought).

I felt like killing off Tyrese came out of nowhere and made 0 sense
Truth.
Episode was weird, and not in a good way. The wife and I were commenting the night before at least we wouldn't have to have beth singing every episode and I made a joke about ghost beth singing...

Like everyone following this thread, am a fanboy of this show. That said, this episode was weak. The artsy bs got on my nerves. Pussy way for Tyreese to go. A dude clubbing a zombie horde to oblivion with a hammer, getting fucked over cause he was distracted by looking at pictures? Aw heeeeell no.

The first episode of better call saul was 10 times better.

Once again ninja zombie that can move silently when the plot calls for it...

I can't even sneak up on someone in a silent house when I'm trying; floor always squeaks, joint pops, so on. But this zombie can get close enough to chomp without tyrese hearing it. Riiiight

Makes even less sense when he was just telling noah "this isn't the end, we've got to keep on going" and immediately after that the sequences make it out to seem like he just gave up.

Jesus fuck that episode was stupid. No wrapping of the bite wound from ninja zombie, you're in a bedroom grab something even a dirty ole undie to put pressure on it, tyrese takes a peek at it every once in a while to see if he's bleeding still, noah gets trapped out in the open from two zombies... Then they chop his arm off and don't bother to wrap that either, great plan guys let him bleed out faster. Btw I probably don't remember correctly, but wasn't it established that they turn when they finally die because the virus or whatever the hell it is, is in everyones blood already? and not just from a bite? so why the hell they chopping arms?

Because zombie magic, I assume that is also why tyrese was immediately incapacitated by a bite on the arm and couldn't just go with noah to met up with the rest.

Any insight on why they were storing the upper body of all those zombies in that rv or whatever it was?

Without spoilers beyond what was in the show, the subdivision was taken out by living people, not zombies. If you listen to the radio ( which was Andrew Lincoln in his brit voice ) when Tyreese was hearing dream stuff it talked about the bands of machete wielding people hacking up anyone they find.

You will have resolution to who it was pretty fast possibly this next week.

This has actually been answered on the after show before and some more tonight.
Being bitten induces a fever/high infection. Like Bob, if you get bitten but bleeding under control you basically have a few days before it kills you. Wacking off a arm or leg in the first minutes would stop the infection. Think of it like dog and cat bites how tissue can get infection then spread.

Tyrese didn't die from zombie infection he died from loss of blood.

Which is why it is even more stupid than ninja zombie. Noah was a captive orderly at the hospital. He never learned about bandaging and controlling blood loss in however long he was there?

Except for the Buffy Musical. That was amazing.
Once More, With Feeling. That was definitely the exception to the rule.

I know we hate on TWD a lot, but it's really hard not to with the whole ninja-zombie bullshit. That's how you're going to take out a main character? Shit was weak.

The problem(s) with walking dead have never been what they do, but rather how they do it. Once again, we have an episode leaving you with the feeling of, "eh, wtf." You want to kill tyrese, fine... But take more than 5 minutes to come up with the how and the why. It just feels disrespectful the the characters and the audience.
