It still bugs me how dumb everyone is. "This is our home now." No, bitch. You've survived a year in the fucking ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE there aren't any homes anymore. Do what you can to survive.
Anyway, pretending seasons 2 and 3 never happened is probably the way to go. It is kind of weird to me to have this redemption arc for the Governor only to have him flip shit the next episode. Whatever though. It wasn't that bad.

yeah, was some good imagery. as we all said the teaser from last week was indeed editing tomfoolery. the actor who plays the gov is a much stronger presence than douchebag rick. entertaining episode this week, i dont have time in the day to list all the stupid parts, but the time flew by.

Yea, I thought the same thing. Martinez knows exactly how crazy the gov is and yet on the first hunt he's got the gov trailing all of them.
Episode was alright, looks like we're in for prison attack 2.0, this time with a tank.
This show has reached another level of stupid. The governor was just annoying and confused in season 3. I was dreading his return but when I saw what looked like a genuine change of heart, I thought to myself, "well, this isn't so bad." Now he's back to being obnoxious and serving no real purpose. If they're gonna keep him around, at least have him do something bold like kill off a couple of main characters.

I feel like this season has overall been an improvement and I like seeing the governor back but I think they accelerated his story far too much just to get a big season finale.
Also, I seriously doubt someone would be down with his brother being killed, especially by a newcomer (that Mitch was clearly not taking to before). That was stupid.

It's always bad to have characterization rely solely on ignorance or insanity, which is what they're doing. They got ONE episode of actual, human emotion and drama we could almost relate to on a fundamental level.... and fuck that, it's easier just to fall back to ignorance and insanity!

It's not insanity. I think he actually cares about his new family (although he tells Lily that he can't lose them again, so at one level this is definately a do-over in his mind) and the bandit raid on those guys in the woods served as a reminder that being in the open won't be thst safe long term. As such, he has a legit reason to take the prison.
Last season he just didn't want neighbors and he had a bunch of softies. Now he has a lot more military folks.

So gov goes to prison , demands ownership, rick says fuck you. Tank fires a bunch( the amount of dynamite next episode used was said to be insane ), gov gets prison, people die on both sides including some major characters. Rick runs off with what is left, gov's people sits in prison until those 7000 zombies show up and eats them all.

Well, minus the TWO of three he killed off who at no point tried to stop his supposed plans, and one who was actively asking for his leadership?
Two possibilities: Gov is just so fucking brilliant it doesn't come across as relatable human behavior.... or the writers are lazy fucks and realize the simplest means to an end, while giving cheap thrills on the way, is to just make him crazy and make him do irrational things and make everyone else ignorant and make it a crock of shit, but hey, at least we'll get some death and destruction!
At this point it's so contrived they may as well just have the Gov address the group: Hey, everyone, there are bandits AND walkers out there, so two of the three men in the group who are the most competent and able to help defend the group are going to disappear and I'm going to tell the one guy I killed his brother... but nobody ask any questions or get suspicious until you find I'm keeping zombies in the lake. Mmmkay? Thanks for being ignorant!
Now all we need is a Dale zombie to stall the group as he discusses the finer points of apocalyptic morality until someone dies and his eyes get wide and he relents!

Hopefully blowing up the prison will fix that pesky hole in the rear wall that nobody noticed!
I won't be shocked of Michonne kills the Gov during the offensive. I don't think the writers won't allow her to get her revenge.

I barely saw what happened, because every time I looked back at the screen, my eyes just started rolling again.
Just a completely unbelievable character.
Even the zombie that walked into the middle of the camp in broad daylight and then just stood there behind the sheets. That "character" is more believable.
