About this tank thing, is that ancient tank still in service in the US military? I thought they were phased out long ago for the M1 Abrams.

Kinda.
It's on par with Walking Dead, tbh. It could be a LOT better than it is, and they use the children crutch, and it's not campy enough to really break into being a cult favorite.
But if you were 15 or 16 years old -- it'd be a pretty decent show.

The show flirts with being compelling, but then almost instinctively jerks back into nonsensical writing and implausible behavior. Dubiously, this is still a vast improvement from other seasons.

I couldn't get past the first season of Falling Skies. The writing is just as bad as in TWD but without the novelty of zombies and the potential of hated characters being devoured for our entertainment value. Instead we are treated to naked CGI aliens / their robot buddies + an overabundance of children and the usual boring drama that seems to always surround them but with an added twist. To make it worse "save the children!" is the primary plot point for at least the first season.

the writing stays corny, but the show got a lot better after season 1. season 3 was pretty sweet though i agree, it shares alot with TWD. including the neckbeard dad lead character.I couldn't get past the first season of Falling Skies. They can find enough fuel to keep a tank running and drive it around the countryside? What kind of mileage does an M1 get? I would think they would need thousands of gallons of diesel.

We don't know how far they've drove the tank to be honest, He could have just drove it from base and parked it there.
Episode was okay, next episode is the mid season final so I'm sure the Gov's group will win and will end with Ricks group fleeing or captured.

I want to know who came in all ninjalike and jacked that group of campers in the woods. Gov's group sees campers, lets them live. A little while later, come back and someone has managed to wipe out the entire group, steal all their shit, and be long gone already. What outstanding timing!

Well if you are going to nitpick that explain 5 groups of people going out on daily supply runs within miles of each other and never hearing those loud ass trucks, cars being floored all the time or running into each other or seeing signs of each other.
When there is no power and traffic or noise pollution you can hear things like that from 1-2 miles away. Hell on a quiet night I can hear the train come by my town and it is 4 miles away and I can hear the wheels and that is inside the house with things running.
