people are getting seriously riled up when i simply say "I'm going to wait for it to be out a while to determine if the quality is good (looking at you cyberpunk at launch), and to make sure the story/setting/artstyle quality is still high, and it's not drowning in woke stuff". Like psychotic. everywhere. they're going full fedora protect m'lady.

Cyberpunk was fine at release unless you played it on a circa 2013 console. Story and atmosphere were great at launch. Stupid gaming media portrayed the game as some buggy unplayable mess. While that might have been true on the PS4, it was fully playable on any modern console and PC. I played it on PC and had no issues, played through the whole game with hardly any bugs. And this was even with a 1070 GTX which was an old card by then, I was getting a steady 50-70 FPS

And sales show this.... 25 million copies, and 5 million copies of the expansion.

So yeah, im willing to have faith they will put out some good shit with Witcher 4 and their next Cyberpunk installment. And if they went fully woke? Well then fuck them. Especially when the blowback on this woke shit is so harsh right now. If they cant read the fucking room, too bad for them, lol.

In an older version of a game, yes. But lets not forget we had people blasting how Tifa looked in the recent FF7 games vs. her PS1 model, saying that she was flat because a shitty low polygon model with pyramid tits was the comparison point.

End of the day, this is a cinematic cutscene. She may look like the cutscene when the game comes out, she may not. As others have pointed out, Geralt and Yennefer looked very different than their teaser trailer counterparts in the actual game release
I understand, and I am in the wait and see camp, even though it might not seem like it. I am simply comparing the "old" Ciri to this "new" Ciri and its just bad. I would not be surprised if this is a case of a new team wanting to make this game "their own", kinda like the new Tsushima game.

It worked fine at launch but the game has been updated and improved so much since launch it really would have been worth waiting. It did give me an excuse to finally retire my 1080ti, it just couldn't keep up.

i've been wondering if the change to unreal 5 or whatever made them change the bonestructure of the faces of some characters as much as activist current year mannification.

If this is true than it is a bigger red flag than anything in the trailer.
Yeah, that's why all of the optimism is throwing me off here because I thought it was well known thanks to CDPR themselves that they went all in on DEI. And like a tale as old as time now, all of the old guard have been moving away to start their own ventures.

It's not just a couple of devs departing to start their own studios, either, but multiple:
Rebel Wolves started by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the former game director for CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 and head of production for Cyberpunk 2077 with their next Dark Fantasy Action-RPG game, Dawnwalker, being published by Bandai Namco

Blank by industry veterans from CD Projekt Red, who helped create The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077

And then another Dark Passenger

As for CDPR proper, I fear that it's joever:

Were it not for those crucial details, I always figured it would be a Ciri game and would have been more open-minded, although count me in the camp that would have preferred a "create your own witcher" game instead.

This is what people aren't getting. All of this stuff was coming out about CDPR before the Witcher 4 trailer. If someone was unfamiliar with it, I can see why they'd think the trailer is mostly fine and point out things like "Geralt looked bad in the original Witcher 3 trailer" and so on. What's been happening at the company since late 2018 I believe is the real red flag, not the trailer. Ciri is kinda ugly now though lol.

It was so fuckin gay especially how they tried to cover it with a thin veneer of heterosexuality

"No no really I'm pretending to be a girl cause I like looking at my digital female body cause I'm so straight"
Yeah, I know a couple of people that say shit like "I don't want to stare a dude's ass when I'm playing", and that's when you tell them to stop being a faggot.

I just can't get in the games where the protagonist is female. That's why Cyberpunk and Mass Effect did it right with getting the option to play either or, and I'm putting in the money to voice act both characters. If I'm playing a role playing game I want my character to be a man, otherwise just kind of throws me out of the immersion / experience.

To each their own I guess, you buy whatever damn game you want to, play it however you want to, but I'm not going to buy stuff that shoe horns you into playing a woman. Just not my cup of tea.

See, a create your own Witcher game where you can pick either gender and both are voice acted like Mass effect would be great. Maybe you're running around with Ciri and training with her and Geralt or something. Whatever, it's just nice to have the option.

Especially when you have a game that's so dialogue heavy, and choosing how you go through various conversations. It's okay though because now you're a strong woman, and you will make the transition into this character, and you better like, or else you get the nine iron.

Kind of how assassins creed: odyssey worked. You weren't shoe horned into playing the bull dyke like you were in Valhalla.

Valhalla was the last game I ever play from that shit company. I see they carried the bull dyke playstyle over into star wars. No thanks. Let me rescue a hot space princess and play with her titties. No bull dykes.

I didn't know they did that, I've actually not played any of them assassin's Creed games, but yeah it's nice to have the option. It's like that new Star Wars game that came out, I'll never play the damn thing because I'm not a sassy girl boss.

If you played cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers as a kid, were you a cowgirl or a femme fatale? No you were Indiana Jones, maybe Luke Skywalker, even though apparently he is a woman, for thinks like one.

It's actually well done.

You even get to whoop her stupid ass at the end of the game.

The original games and even books were always building to Ciri taking up the mantle, the only people who would care are giga triggered Taliban lovers

Ciri left the planet with Sir Galahad to go to Camelot at the end of the books, so no..

Stop trying to reinforce a retcon.

Dunno if it was linked yet or not lol.

That whole paragraph is broke. He states a criticism for people complaining about writers not respecting the lore, and then in the very next sentence...."They have made sweeping changes, yes." I am not sure this person understands the word respect.

Even the CDPR lead was trying to dismiss/gaslight people over the DEI shit that is literally on their own website and something he himself promotes.

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and where there are rainbow flags, there are fags.

It would have been a perfect setup to let you choose a Witcher school that would affect your stats, fighting style, and alliances/rivalries. I think the School of the Cat even trained female witchers, so there you go, mythical modern audience and consoomers. The possiblities this would allow are endless just from a politicking standpoint and how the story could evolve like a true role-playing game.

For role playing games specifically, 99% of men are going to have a much easier time playing the role of a male character, especially a pre-determined one like Geralt, and that will always be the main demographic no matter how many chicks pick up pokemon go or peggle to fluff the numbers.

Then when you consider how much the technology to allow even more customization and player choice has only expanded exponentially, these developers insistence to railroad players on their C-movie level storylines is a difficult trend to ignore. Then when they do give the player a choice, they'd rather give them top scars and blue hair ideology lectures like in Failguard.

Kind of how assassins creed: odyssey worked. You weren't shoe horned into playing the bull dyke like you were in Valhalla.

That's the perfect example of an unwarranted and illogical reversal. I only played a bit of Oddysey for free, but I do know that you can go around killing civilians and the game doesn't give a shit. Somehow in the game about fucking vikings, nope, their dumbshit animus blue screens over a fucking viking killing civilians. That alone is unforgiveable.
Dunno if it was linked yet or not lol.

Some of them? Could he not stretch the meaning of the word as hard as his spread asshole for a second and try to understand that Henry Cavil left explicitly because they were taking gigantic shits on the lore and that they love and respect nothing but their own egos?

Also, if this isn't (another) red rainbow flag too big to ignore, then I don't know what to say.
