Destroyed the army and the immediate surroundings, but I didn't interpret that as deleting literally everything. The portal was really far from where most of the programs lived and they only showed the explosion seeming to encompass the nearby area. Sam downloading the world makes less sense if Flynn had basically formatted everything.

It made 400+ million on 170 budget, how that a flop. Usually the break even is double production budget (often less) so it probably made around 60m at the theaters and some more on the tail end minimum.

I hate Disney and will pirate this, but no need to make crap up to make them look stupider than they are.

I don't realize everybody hated Jared Leto? Is that a thing? I mean he's not the greatest but he's a passable actor but kind of on the cusp of being a movie star. Moviestar being somebody that always plays themselves no matter what film, like Tommy Lee Jones, I know I've seen Leto and a couple of movies were at least he's trying.

What am I missing? Is it because he's got a crappy band which I don't really know a goddamn thing about. I don't even know what the hell they're called.

Flop used to mean if didn't make it's budget back or just barely broke even. Now studios seem to call anything that doesn't make 3-4x it's production budget back a flop.

I was shocked at this but lots of people in various twitter/X threads were HATING on Leto. I thought he was a great actor but all anyone was focused on was Morbius.

Anyway, I was super excited about this until I found out no Daft Punk and no Joseph Kosinski. Hedlund was good, Wilde is/was hot but every time I look at her all I can think about is how high maintenance she must be. I keep forgetting about Daft Punk ending: I read about it and then forget about it until someone mentions this movie and then get reminded about why they can't do the soundtrack. Tron: Legacy is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, I think because it reminds me of Mass Effect? I don't know but I love it.

NIN will do a great job and we'll see if Davis can equal Kosinski, whose aesthetic I love as well. If they can keep this one from falling completely apart in the 2nd half, maybe we will have a winner.

Absolutely would not bet on it since Disney is a Kingdom in Woke Ruin these days.

30 Seconds to Mars. And they have 1 semi big hit that is still played a lot on radio decades later. His Joker was pretty shite, but I can't say I hate him as an actor. My So Called Life was one of those TV shows that was so good you wonder what the execs are smoking for axing it after 1 season.

I don't know I never thought he was a bad actor. I was just kind of surprised that people have some sort of vitriol against him. Didn't know if it was because of his crappy music, some film that he had done.

I think the first time I ever noticed him was in movie called Switchback with Danny Glover. Think it was in the mid-90s, maybe Dennis Quaid was in it too. Good little thriller.

Leto comes off as an effeminate faggot in everything he's in. They should only ever cast him in chick flicks because only women and faggots like him. Yet they mysteriously keep casting him in male dominant sci-fi and fantasy films.

And 400m on 170 budget doesn't account for world wide marketing budget.

So 170m plus half of that ~250m total

400m in tickets, half of that goes to the movie theater, more than half outside north america.

So 250m total budget 200m profits off tickets = 50m in the red, box office bomb.

Granted it probably nudged into profitability with streaming and DVD sales, eventually.

But hey a 50m loss is a small price to pay to keep a profitable IP going.

Unfortunately Tron foile 'e tres is going to do much worse. Probably lose 400m after marketing. No one wants this.

He's not terrible. Like I wouldn't go see a movie cause he was in it, but pretending its his fault for Morbius or fucking Suicide Squad is dumb. I think part of the issue is its fuzzy looking at him to know how old he is. His best output was like 1999 In Fight Club, Requiem, Panic Room, Lord of War and Mr. Nobody culminating in 2009 then winning an Oscar 4 years later. But all anyone can remember is a bad Joker that David Ayer created and a Morbius film that was so bad Sony thought people memeing on it was real and re-released it. This is totally Jared Leto's fault lol



He's fine. He was fine in BR2049, and he is more of a supporting actor but amazing acting isn't a reason to go see a Tron film. I love Legacy but the acting from Garrett Hedlund was real wooden and yea Olivia Wilde was hot but she isn't anymore and she wasn't much better. Now granted I don't listen to 30 Seconds From Mars but I dont really care, maybe getting him on board made the movie go forward IDK. Sounds like it will have Jeff Bridges, Gillian Anderson and Evan Peters anyways so they can carry the acting. Just give me good visuals and banger music.
