Thing is, Twitch will have Ninja and Shroud’s balls in a vice. The massive drop off in actual viewers between Mixer and Twitch let’s Twitch rightfully argue that their platform plays a significant role in their success, which will let Twitch have good negotiation leverage re: any exclusivity deals. The fact Ninja and Shroud rejected payday #2 makes me think they are concerned about long term brand viability.

Why retire? Fuckers play games for a living, and now dont even have to do it full time like they had to grind for years to get popular. They can come back to twitch, stream part time and still make mad bank. Imagine the initial rush of people that will watch them again on twitch, lulz.

Except now they are both multi millionaires and don't have to sweat Twitch's negotiators since they both have fuck you money. Do you think Twitch's CEO is going to let his dumb team members hold a grudge and nickle & dime two giant streamers? He's going to know that they will get more money from YouTube if they dick around so they will make similar offers to them that they made to the streamers they held onto. I'm sure the loss in subscribers will be brought up as a bargaining chip, but those guys can tell them to fuck themselves and just stream on the platform with no guarantee and make bank. Their first days back are going to be crazy.

Nah, Shroud will instantly have a community again second he goes back to Twitch, I'm sure Ninja has his crowd as well, although it was declining when he left, I thought. Plus as others have mentioned, they already have their fat paydays and can just cruise control for donos/subs. They don't even need to be super top tier anymore, even decent level like 10k subs would be nice monthly income for them while sitting on their fat payday money that they can invest (if they're smart).

They are all at the stage of lawyers, accountants, managers, people people and more people. It really isnt like the old days where you have your mom and dad do your shit and they fleece you for 10 mil. Im no where near a 30m check for 6 months but I have those people just due to contracts and payments. There are too many people in your pipeline of money that want money that will let you get fucked over (not being smart).
