That's pretty much his only shot. Hire some private US operators for 1mil to extract him to a non-extradition country (In this case, Lebanon would be the safest)

Problem is,

as the Nissan executive found out, you can never leave the non-extradition country unless you plan on resolving your charges. You live in exile. He could illegally re-enter the US via Mexico using a coyote, but he can never operate a US bank account etc again. He'd have to be off the grid.

Anyone with any self-preservation would have been like "oh shit this detective could open a real investigation into my activities here" and left. He stayed for weeks after that. He was given multiple chances.

And when high ranking investigators are on scene looking very concerned with a pained expression on their face, and it's not just beat patrol cops, that's another sign maybe you should get the fuck out.
