Arthas cameo would be cool, I'm sure I heard some hearsay that he would be in talking to young Varian. Or maybe that was just the plot of a short story on the WoW website...
Ashbringer hasn't been made yet, it's created after Warcraft 2 using probably a bit of dead Naaru from Draenor captured from some warlock or something. You can see the event in Caverns of Time: Durnholde.

Yeah in that scene with the elves and dwarves and what looks like human diplomats from the various kingdoms, you have young Arthas meet young Varian. Pretty sure theres a short story out there of Varian knowing Arthas. Then all the diplomats can be like "oh you guys can handle this lol" led by Greymane/Gilneas then realise their mistake and form The Alliance in Warcraft 2.
Varian is an obvious "retcon" to add in since his dad dies and Lothar has to evacuate everyone to Lordaeron, so you gotta save the heir to the throne kinda thing.

The recon is strong with, heck even the MAP in WoW... WoW + era is totally different imo lore than WC1/2 and 3 is just jumbled in between the old and new vision... so I see the move as "Wc1" era but in the "world" of WoW lore etc.
But hell they have to recon within WoW lore itself to keep things moving on... so I have kinda loss giving 2 flips about Warcraft lore...kinda now how I am getting with Halo

Humans would be so fucked if it wasn't a "fantasy" story lol. Those dudes at 4x bigger and 5x stronger than them. I laughed when the armored humans and orcs charged the field.
But yeah, I'll watch it. Was there an "alliance" of some parties within the Orc and Humans in WC1? Been a looong time since I played it. All I remember really is Orcs brought to Azeroth to fuck shit up. And they were evil at the time.
