Well... it is the middle of February.
It's Florida. February through April is spring, before summer starts May through October.

We do air conditioning basically every month, except usually a month and a half from mid-December through January of heat, and usually can get by without anything for November and February.

Sucks. It was 75F here today and kinda windy up to 30mph.

Then about 10pm I started hearing thunder and then rain. I looked and we are under 3 tornado watches and 1 warning. Temp in the morning 8 hours from now to be 40F and it's still 70 now at 11. Gust mow to 40mph. Fun fun.

Radar is all purple that doesn't look good. Front looks like it goes from New York to Ohio and turns south all the day down to out in the gulf.

Peaked at 61F and fallen to 53F in an hour but the winds have already put us on generator power. Good luck power company.

31 last night and 34 currently. House down the road is having the grass mowed. And no they aren't illegals they are not very popular a minority part of the world. Guessing they hire out guys that work other jobs and their other jobs got the day off due to cool weather, so let's mow lol.

My half of the neighborhood got power back quickly, I guess the problem wasn't further down the main road. Other half still has a two-day estimate which is weird because the outage includes one side of the highway with a street light and all the stores down to the corner gas station. Would have figured they get a higher priority than the <10 houses out scattered through the woods.

I'm north Gold Coast.

I have never been in the path of anything like this before. I am cautiously optimistic, I'm in an apartment complex and the large part of the structure is to the south and east of me so basically I'm on the lee side. I have put tape on the east side windows, perhaps that could make a difference if something impacts the glass

I'm thinking the power might go out tonight, so I will update later, I'm just expecting that's how it'll be.

I had shut my main desktop PC down, ready to call it a night. I had gotten pretty much all I need done. The power goes out.

But then back on 2 minutes later. And the PC powers up so I figured I'd do a quick check that all is good.

Getting quite windy outside

A bunch of my relos live in the evacuation zones around Murwillumbah but they don't want to leave so they just battened down the hatches and are waiting it out.
One of their houses already had to be partially rebuilt after the 2022 floods, here we go again.

2 story brick building that used to be a bar cafe in the 50-60's, is now just 4 apartments. It had a flat roof, but at some point they built a very low pitched roof and covered it with metal. The wind picked the whole roof up and dropped it on the house across the street

Yeah, so I survived it all. The bad part was that I have had the power go out for 36 hours. It was just boring for me trying to find things to do.

The wind got real powerful one night, that was the bad part as I was trying to sleep but could only just listen to all the noises of the building creak and flex.

I struggled to sleep, and relocated myself into this short bit of hallway which is central in my apartment. I was able to get some ZZZ's I woke at like 2:30 and it was way calmer. I went for a walk about outside to check for damage etc and all was fine

Looks like 1/3 of the country is about to get rocked over the next 36 or so hours.

I fucking hate tornadoes. It's the reason I don't live in the midwest anymore. Tomorrow we're in the 4 out of 5 zone. Not cool.
