It's been revised down to about a foot but the high winds are still on their way.

I've never felt so compelled to media binge. I'm playing Darksiders II with a movie on tv and music playing.

And related - don't get the Deathinitive edition on pc. It's a crashing piece of shit. (issues on consoles too, amazingly) I restarted with the original release. I didn't play it far when it came out because I had just finished the first one when it came out and it felt too much like more of the same.

I just finished DMC4 SE. And I'm still working on a Starcraft marathon.

I just feel that clock ticking for the inevitable power outage. So I'm eating everything and getting drunk and playing video games with zeal.

Also, bored people who aren't used to being indoors keep calling. WTF. You still have power and internet, go netflix and chill. Bitch when you're eating cereal with five layers of clothes on.

I have absolutely no contingency for an extended power outage. No heater, no grill, no generator. I have my kindle and a lantern and liquor.

I might print out some porn.

I love Georgia. When we have a chance for a snow flake, it is all they talk about on the news.

Reporter on the scene: " Yes John, as you can see there is a little bit of sleet hitting my sleeve. If you look just behind me, it appears as though there could be some slush build up on the edge of the road"

I work Water Reclamation and today I was told not to report back in until my shift on Sunday. They got the 1st shift to stay 48 hours just so they did not have to deal with the "potential" problems of shift changes and such. I still get paid and laugh.

Well it's spitting ice on top of the 10 inches of so of snow, 20mph wind and Fuck YOu wind chill in central VA atm. So it's enough, just not a blizzard.

I may have gotten drunk and cooked all this food for nothing.

The storm shifted north a bit and is going to stall out a bit off the coast, so everyone is frantically revising snow totals upwards. I went to bed last night in the 5-10" zone, now I am in the 14-20" zone with a potential for 30. Looks like there is 8 inches, maybe a foot out there now and there is another 10 hours of snow to come.

20" down here, 5-8" more through tonight. Already did two rounds of shoveling and my entire neighborhood is unplowed, not even the truck owners have attempted going out.

Thank god the area I live in has power lines underground. Can't remember a time when we had power outage problems here.

We've had regular 30 minute patrols by plows here, which had resulted in a 4 foot high snow wall at the end of my driveway. Took me three hours to dig my truck out and get it off the driveway.

I'm surprised some paparazzi actually drove up to the Tomb of the Unknown to photograph theHonor Guard still doing their thing in the middle of the blizzard.



Or is it not as bad over there? Doesn't look to deep yet maybe the photog got there early yesterday.

They shovel in between ceremonies pretty much constantly.

Its from around noon yesterday. Also I doubt they shovel grass.

I could really go for some Doritos right now

The ceremony takes place on a large cement area in front of the monument, they keep it clean during storms. I assume there are cases when the storm can get too dangerous for them to do and and in those cases they don't, but normally they do.

Could be wrong, this is just my understanding based on some people I knew in honor guard who talked about it.

I don't doubt you, I'm commenting on the fact in the picture shows grass. That and it was tweeted at 1230pm yesterday.
