I'm definitely not burning those kinds of calories. I'd wager that it's closer to 1/2 that amount since I'm not climbing the hardest routes that I can. Bouldering is like rock climbing without the ropes and you only climb to ~20' at the most. I suppose if I were trad climbing with ropes and was going balls out, I'd be ~600-700/hr.Well, I have no idea wtf bouldering is. I'm assuming you're lifting boulders over your head and tossing them a great distance. Good job!
Apparently it burns about 700 calories per hour, and if you're doing 2-3 hours... dude, you're literally burning what you're eating and then more. How are you even standing? I'd be dragging ass all over the place if I was only consuming 1700-1800 calories a day, FORGET adding in cardio. I know you're trying to lose weight, but you really either need to down the cardio or increase the calories quite a bit. I would get over 2,000, probably around 2,200. If not more... you seem highly active.
I've become very active over the last couple months since I came back from a shoulder injury. The yoga classes are beginner level or restorative classes that focus mainly on stretching and rebuilding connective tissue, and not anything crazy like hot yoga or that shit. I could probably make ~10 minutes in one of that before keeling over.
I'm definitely very tired at the end of the day. You bring up a very good point about "How the fuck do I manage with this?" If that's correct about bouldering, I have absolutely no clue how I've managed to keep up. I'm sure I'm putting on some more lean muscle since I'm basically doing pull-ups and squats for hours straight.
Oh rad, thank you for the link! Looks like it's time to do some research and maybe take a visit to my oncologist to see if there's any reason that I'd be picking up so much weight since ending chemo. If anything I feel like I should be losing weight since I'm no longer on massive amounts of steroids from that shit. This guy discusses dieting breaks (aka refeeds) and why you need to do that on occasion.
