well that was embarrasing.

I can't move my arms now.
You should really just quit. Being fat and happy is a much more satisfying existence than working your ass off in the gym and dealing with soreness. Come join us in the fast food thread!

Okay so problem:

I've only taken in 1500 calories today and I have absolutely no desire to eat. I've taken in 150g of protein, 50g of fat, and 17g of net carbs. Mind you, I lifted this morning at 6 AM.

Why am I not fucking hungry? I was eating upwards of 3000+ calories while lifting 6 months ago and I kept eating like that even after not lifting anymore. I've been doing keto somewhat (mind you, less than a week), is this some sort of bullshit transition? Cause I'm not going to increase weight by eating like a fucking bunny like this. Anyone have some advice?
Not being hungry is part of keto. Good news, I thought you were a fat fuck like me trying to lose weight. If you are already at your ideal weight and trying to bulk up beer is back on the menu.http://www.reddit.com/r/ketogains/wiki/index

by increase weight do you mean put on muscle? If so then keto isn't the way to go:

Lose Fat - keto
Lose fat and gain muscle - keto/carb cycle (carbs postworkout)
Gain muscle - no need to cut or cycle carbs imo

I'm literally trying to shed maybe an extra 10 pounds I have.

And when I say increase weight, I mean increasing my squat, deadlift, bench, etc. I can't get stronger eating like a fucking bird.

I also have this headache that hasn't gone away in 2 days.

Sounds like the "keto flu" which is normal for the first week of transitioning off carbs.

If you're trying to lose body fat whilst also trying to increase your lifts I think the best approach for you is to carb cycle - or what some people call a timed keto diet. Non training days I would keep the protein high (4g per kg) and the carbs low. Training days reduce protein (3g per kg) and eat carbs pre or post workout or both.

LOL that sub is a complete joke, the guy that moderates it sent me a link to an examine.com page and said "too much protein is harmful, look even examine says so" I pointed out the link said the complete opposite and he banned me rofl.

jesus 1500 calories? i'm limiting my intake to 2100 and i'm struggling. how are you doing vitamin/mineral wise? maybe the loss of appetite is being cause by some deficiency?

@hekotat if you absolutely have to do 2 day splits i'd suggest doing chest/back day 1, shoulders/legs day 2.
doing chest/back allows you to work on push/pull compound movements and you'll also work on your arms as a result. for shoulders/legs you could do some sort of clean type exercise.

I take Animal Paks, always have. I like them a lot more than any other multi-vit I've taken. It pretty much covers all my daily needs and then some lol.

Yeah, Ambit gave me a routine that would work out better. I'll start tonight or tomorrow morning on it.

So would cutting to about 10% bf and then bulking beyond that make sense? Or should I bulk and then attempt to cut?

It would probably be better to cut to 10% first. That's leaner than most people realize and you'll usually have visible abs. Mostly it makes it easier to gauge if you're gaining muscle vs fat. Outside of that bulking first isn't really wrong and it's mostly personal preference

I just want to rid myself of the little fat I have left. I figure get rid of that be comfortable, and then begin the process of adding muscle again.

When I was lifting last time, I could see myself getting bigger and stronger, but the excess fat was still there and it always bothered me, even if I was benching 285.

Most people recommend getting down to 10-12% and then doing a "lean bulk" from there. A lean bulk being essentially just slightly above maintenance, and stop as soon as you can't see your abs anymore.

It's what I'm doing now, but 10-12% is way lower than most people realize (or rather, we understimate our BF when it's higher). I was almost 180 at the end of my bulk and guessed 17-18% BF. That put me at like 164 or so to finish my cut, assuming no LBM loss. I'm down to 163 right now and I still can't see my abs, so I'm guessing still at like 14%. Which means I was probably 20%+ before. So now I'm looking at probably 155-158 before I'm done. That's depressing to me.

That said, I've looked at lots of pictures of guys who are legitimately 10% or so BF at 5'10" and 150-160, and they look massive. I think it's just this inbetween stage where it sucks. I don't have the size I used to, but I also have none of the definition either.

I pulled a 425 deadlift at 170 lbs back in February, which I was super excited about because it was exactly 2.5x bodyweight. My strength is starting to decline, but I think it may be more a factor of size. I pulled 420 this week at 163, which is a 2.57x BW lift. So technically I'm stronger now. It's just getting past the mental hurdles for me. And the hunger...fuck, I wish I could eat like I was bulking still.

getting to 10% and then bulking is the recommended advice - the leaner you are the better you handle carbs and carbs are the way to bulk.
