Yup people sometimes don’t realize tesla has a complete china op, makes them all there sources etc- and they are vastly cheaper than the USA made ones- if Elon wanted to he could swap to imported- make like the headlights here a la ford and make more more money, but he does not.
No thankfully here he imports H1B workers to build and sell them at full fat American twice the price

I forget where my last update was. But 30k mile car denied courtesy warranty on the strut tower and struts on my cpo warranty F type.

Was going to get struts 3rd party but the parts are like 85% of the bill.

So in it for $2600. Hopefully that's the last issue for a while, just incentive i guess not to flip it too soon in a year or two.

For those who have vehicles that aren't driven frequently all year round, how often do you move them to avoid flat spots on tires?

Just keep the right PSI in them and drive normally. Flat spots will cause jiggling, but only for a mile or so when the tires heat up and even themselves out.

Yea I think 'driving normally' implies driving it more frequently than if you're storing a vehicle for months at a time, hence my question.

Modern tires don't really permanently flat spot. The advice I've read is just what he said, you can leave it sitting for months and it'll initially womp womp a little bit but even out shortly. Modern tires are fucking amazing.

Okay folks, here's a real review.

We had snow. Not a lot, just a bit. Enough to make the roads slippery. I was driving my F150. At a crossroads downtown as I was on the way to the rink, I was stopped at a red light, and the cross traffic was moving slowly. A homeless person ran into the intersection and a tractor-trailer swerved hard to avoid said person. The truck ended up pinning me against a brick wall in a magnificent t-bone move. Truck is totaled. Semi had most of its cargo destroyed, the truck itself was pretty messed up, too. It was only going about 35 MPH, but that's enough to destroy a truck when you pin it against a wall it turns out.

Here's the review: I walked out of that with absolutely no injury. Airbags everyfuckingwhere, and I didn't have any injury, no concussion, whip lash, nothing. After being pinned to the wall by a semi. In the process of getting a new F150 right now. 10/10. Kept me safe, was extraordinary.

As a side note, I saw the truck coming, had no where to escape, so just braced myself. I did not shit my pants. That's also a win.

Couple of them I drive once every other week and that's more than enough. Takes a LONG time for tires to get flat spots.

Definitely a scary incident. Glad the innocent are OK (are you innocent? hmmm...)

I bet the homeless guy won't be charged for the hundreds of thousands in damages, eh?

FWIW, my motorhome gets put up in Aug/Sept and moved again in Apr/May. I only use it 2 or 3 times a year in a 4 month period. It's tons of weight sitting on 6 tires and I have never noticed a flat spot on and of the tires.

How long ago? "Whiplash" related stuff can come up after a few days, happened to my sister-in-law recently. Similar speed impact, though a similar sized vehicle to hers. Felt fine until later in the week. Fortunately, nothing some rest and a bit of motrin couldn't take care off. But you never know.

I can't imagine seeing a semi coming at me like that. Damn, glad you're okay. It feels weird walking away from something like that with no issues.

I had a similar thing happen to me a couple months ago in a 25mph zone. My light turned green and half way through the intersection an illegal drunk driver in a Suburban ran his red light at 60+ mph and took off the front end of my 4Runner. He hit me at full speed, then flipped and rolled 3 times and came to a stop 300' away, upside down. My vehicle got pushed backwards about 25' - 30', then just rolled forward and stopped. NO AIRBAGS went off in the 4Runner for some reason. The front was sheared off just in front of the tire and engine block. Police watched a Ring video and said 1/4 second more and no chance I'd have lived from a hit like that.

I had a slight bump on my head, soar shoulder muscle, and stubbed my finger. But other than that little stuff, I had no real injuries and went to work the next day.

5 vehicles were damaged in the wreck but I was the only one with any insurance!
