There's no room for it anywhere else. We're building a shroud for it to prevent buffetting. Most guys put them in the engine bay on the hot side, it's even worse. Also I'll get plenty of airflow on the IC and radiator, plus i have huge fans on the other side of the radiator.
Edit to clarify:
The L series motors run the turbo and the throttle body on the same side of the motor, so placement of larger aftermarket parts becomes tricky. Also, this build uses a Ford cobra 4inch MAF. It has to be a minimum of 10 inches straight (in 4 inch pipe) off the MAF, and 20+ inches from the turbo, where it is now is 26.
We're at about the same skill level, which is why I asked. What is his current setup for welding?About 2 years? Taught himself.

Anyone driven a Tesla Model X or know someone who has for a half-year or so? Wife and I are looking for a new car and are debating the base model (200 mile range). Did a test drive and it was quite nice...
Figured we'd do the lease for the first 2 years and then see what the landscape was like. Need a practical car for when our son is born in Jan.
Shit looks good Madruk, however, I still do not undestand why you cannot remove this coupler the arrow is pointing at and just put a filter there. You might have to bend the pipe a little away from the intercooler but I don't see how that wouldn't work.

Antarius and Cad covered them extensively...AS YOUR VEHICLE CONSULTANT (ex), I would never recommend Tesla Model X or any Tesla model for safety and longevity issues. Although semi-autopilot is a very attractive option, it is still in its early stages and I would steer away from it for the safety of your kids.Anyone driven a Tesla Model X or know someone who has for a half-year or so? If you really want a Tesla hop on ev-cpo and get a cpo one for half off with full warranty.
You should sooner lease a Tesla than owning one. Fuck CPO. We still have no idea how reliable these things are.
Most CPO have limited power train warranty added and some extra ding dong standard. Nothing comprehensive.CPO comes with full warranty? What's the problem?

EDIT: I stand corrected. BMW/Audi offers two years extended limited warranty from the time of original warranty expires which charges specific deductible.
