Harry Potter really was a huge cultural event, so many great actors ended up known more for that than the huge body of work they did before and after.

Anyone who has been around these parts for long enough should at least be familiar with the Emma Watson countdown.

I remember. For those that don't, it was a bunch of weirdos counting down until she turned 18.

She's 34 now, in case you wanted to feel old today.

I grew up to my parents watching this, recording it every day on VHS and then watching it over dinner before Family Feud and MASH came on.

My mom still watches it to this day. I despise this show but I essentially grew up watching this guy.

Guy was a certified badass. Went to Oxford as a Rhodes scholar, was a helicopter pilot in the military, wrote numerous hit songs for himself and others, sung, and was actually a really decent actor also.

Got to meet him 5 years ago, he went years thinking he had dementia and finally found out it was lyme disease. Fixed it and went back on tour

He was flying helicopters to offshore rigs fo a while. Saw an interview he wrote Me and Bobby McGee in his car betweeen Morgan City where the heliport is and Baton Rouge. Hence the line "busted flat in Baton Rouge". Just making shit up as he went.

Heard it from both sides he landed a helicopter at Johnny Cashs house outside Nashville to give him the song "sunday morning coming down" and Cash thought he was crazy.

Back when they were the Highwayman with Willie, Waylon and Cash they all said Kris was the most liberal "fighting a cause" of the group. He was the reason they did the song deportee about illegals dying in a plane crash that were being shipping back to Mexico.

Willie, Haggard, and Kris were always in northern California. Never met Willie (he always ate at a shitty restaurant that my grandpa loved also) but liberal was way different back then. Haggard lived in town so you could run into him all the time. Clint Eastwood has a place up here forever but never ran into him.

I feel like this next year is going to be brutal on celeb deaths

Seems like Kris had been in bad shape for some time. Also seems like every other month I hear Willie had to cancel a show because he was sick. Who knows he probably doesn't even know what year it is. I saw Waylon in one of his last shows on the never say die tour. He was in bad shape and had to sit on a stool most of the concert due to leg issues with his diabetes. He told someone in the audience jokinly "Bring your ass up here and I'll still kick it". I think he had 2-3 more dates then that was it. Was still a good concert. He had several playing with him and did a number of covers of his favorite songs that weren't really in his genre like Drft Away. There's youtube of it, he did a couple of Krisstofferson songs that he had written that Waylon had done over the years. Kris made his big Hollywood breakthrough with A star is born though had done other things. Waylon would said things weren't the same since Kris and Willie were out in LA doing LA things.

I thought he was good in Flashpoint movie, dad from the 70s show was the "fixer" that fixed things after the Kennedy assasination. I don't recall many other acting things I saw him in.
