I'm enjoying the game, but unfortunately I caved to the whining cunts I gave my friend passes to and transferred to rowsdower so they didn't have to wait in the login queue. Server is goddamn empty, and my choice is pay twenty to transfer, start over, or hope carbine merges some servers :/

i guess a guild cleared the 40 man raid finally? or still more bosses?
40 Man Raiding! Enigma gets World First System Daemons! : WildStar

was interesting reading their comments, they said basically its been impossible getting 40 raiders to show up at once and out of the 40 days its taken they only had a full 40 man roster on 7 of those days. If the top raiding guild can't keep a 40 man roster together, i dunno how anyone else will.

I wonder what Carbine thinks of their design decisions and whether its been the right ones or whether they misread the demand/market. Any new MMO that doesn't launch with megaserver design is badly designed, the pros vastly outweigh the cons.

thinking about picking up the game when it goes on sale next time, or maybe its better just to resub to FF14 when it launches new classes... or swtor... or TERA... or Rift... or wow xpac... oh wait, destiny then GTA5 then AC5 then DA3 cycle starts in a month...

That's the first boss of the 40 man.

So it's been 2 and a half months and only 1 boss of the 40 man has been killed by a single guild. I remember many on this forum telling me that the 40 man would be cleared in 4-6 weeks.

I just see it as an example of how there really isn't nearly as much interest in hardcore large group raiding as some people think. Just my two cents, though. I don't even play the game.

Or perhaps someone confused 'hardcore' for 'ridiculous artificial POP-esque backflagging time sink'.

It's an old school mentality that equates hardcore with grinding. Players didn't like grinding 10 years ago, they sure as hell don't like it now. The problem with this game is the stuff beyond end game raiding probably isn't interesting/fun enough to justify paying a sub for.

Outside of raiding, the game just isn't fun to play. The classes, PvP, crafting, all of these are mediocre. The grinding in term of dailies and attunement makes it a lot worse. The transition from 20-man to 40-man suckes to any guild.

Personally, It burns the shit out of me. And at the end it is NOT worth the time and energy to stick around anymore.

I think that was assuming that there would still be a great interest in WildStar by most of the people who launched and how fast they were eating the content. Once most of the casuals slugged through the regular dungeons with the hope that the game would get easier hit that Attunement phase and realized that they hadn't even barely touched on time commitments they thought they'd have to give, the jig was up. There's probably going to be another quarter of the base content with chatting with guildies and playing Rocket House Barbies for another couple of months before bolting.

Kind of weird to say but the world was simpler back then (Vanilla WoW), at least from a video game perspective. Too many different styles of pay and play options these days and not just in MMOs, are helping WildStar to become quickly irrelevant.

Attunement isn't hard. The "hardest" part besides clearing GA is silver dungeons. They're not even impossible, just take coordination and good players. Both of which are required in raids. Also 75% of boss mechanics are found in these dungeons so the more they do them, the better they will be.

PVP is actually fun if you're geared and not fighting exploiters. The combat in this game is the most fun I've played. They do need an open world PVP zone with goals though. Daggerstone pass is wayyyy more fun than Wally Temple 1000x a day.

And this is the part where I remind you that you, me and most of the people on this site who consider attunement 'easy' are not indicative of the typical casual player in terms of skill level in this game which is the point.

That's not saying no one here can't suck like Goober T. Noob or others in-game can't be pulled through, but I'd wager all of the people on this site and ones like it have been in MMOs for a good number of years and wouldn't find anything any game throws at them 'hard'. Most just moved on because it was boring or didn't want to put the time into doing Molten Core all over again (albeit flashier).

The skill level is simply too hard forthatcasual type player, especially when that's what your whole game is basically built around or aiming for. Again, the casual player will raid for the promise or mistaken belief that they will be on a successful 40 man raid and above anyone else, will win the roll for that special weapon when it drops. This game is crushing a lot of those people right from the onset of that never happening and not apologizing for it.

Carbine's mantra has been over-and-over again, "Raiding is for the top 1%". And it is. Johnny T. NoInterrupt is not going to make it there. Susie Q. Bluegear isn't either.

People feel entitled to raids because of what WoW has done. They're not. This is upper echelon. This is nerd-Valhalla. If you've not bathed in the blood of your enemies in combat to have earned your place here, you're not here.

That being said they are added more casual shit. They're adding a new dungeon next drop. The problem is no matter what is added for them they'll see content they're not capable of, for whatever reason, and they will bitch about it. Though people complain and Carbine is basically not budging this just means that the hardcores will become a smaller and smaller group. This is not necessarily a bad thing. That means there's actually going to be a group of like-minded, like-skilled people around who then can group up and do the shit they've been aiming to do for the entirety of the game.

Nah.

What'sactuallygoing to happen is the publisher is going to want a return on their investment and they will...one way or another.
