Art is always going to be subjective, so while you're not wrong for disliking it, you are wrong is saying that it's gay/bad.

Lol, lots of jimmies rustled with my post on your precious. I generally stay away from this thread, but the slobbering love for the crap art style got the better of me.

But telling me to go away is a bit hypocritical hmm? Considering the massive amount of shit flinging that generally goes on here in all the threads. As I said, I generally stay away from this thread because I'm not going to play the game. But that isn't something most people do on this board.

I have the same issue. I like the art style and think it works perfectly with how they are making their World, but there are some issues. So far, the aspects of the game that bother me the most are:

Telegraphing: Why is this in the game? It looks bad, really bad. These guys are clearly very talented and have a great art team, it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a telegraphing system that fits into the game. Instead of a red circle why not have the round start to get agitated or something? Or copy Tera and have mobs give telltale signs that they are about to do something you should avoid.

Melee Combat: Every vid I've seen of melee combat animations have been rather stiff and clunky, makes me a bit worried.

I'm not in Beta yet (damnit), so this just comes from various vids and something else.

I don't really disagree with your statement (though most of it is utterly derogative, poorly written and deliberately offensive), I'm not a huge fan of cartoon-like graphics / art-style in videogames either. There's always a bitter taste of betrayal, like cartoonesque graphics would be a convenient shortcut for lazy companies. I know nothing about 3D art or anything, so I might be wrong there, but it really feels "cheap".

Nevertheless, since some graphic features are added late during the beta process, I'm eager to see how the game will be in a mostly-finalized state.

It isn't even the idea of cartoony graphics that makes me hate it. It's the unimaginative, uninspired, and boring look of it. I'm probably biased anyways since I fucking hate steam punk in video games.

Realize I'm not in beta. That wasn't the point. I'm not in hearthstone beta, but I can still login to my battle.net account. Guess Wildstar is different, which is fine, but figured there would be somewhere to login. Oh well. If I get into beta I'll just read the email then on account creation.

You come into a discussion about an MMO and imply that because of the graphics it will fail. The most successful MMO in history has "cartoony" graphics. Who's the special needs child here?

What are some of you guys most interested in when you finally get to play? Combat, Raiding, Mining, Sitting AFK in a main city? What's your plans! I'm curious after talking to my friend, I'm actually stoked about crafting and exploring. I'm never excited for crafting, but maybe it's because farming mats will be less boring? ...I'm sure in due time it will suck asshole, but whatever.

What are you looking forward to?
