Not sure why they didn't at least keep that part of FCR2 alive in TW3, but from what I've seen skimming the various videos on youtube it's back to all rolling all the time. Could be something that unlocks later or with a skill though, who knows.
See video posted above (twitch). At around the 8-9 minute mark he is fighting several bandits while explaining the dodge. Two dodges that you can use at will. One skips a few steps, no roll. Looks similar to the dodge movement from Bloodborne. Then the other, which is the jump, one roll and up. That seems somewhat similar to the dodge you have in Dragon Age Inquisition with the dodge skill you get under stealth.

Seemed quite fluid as he skipped around trying to parry, then used long roll to get away when they closed around him, or to quickly close distances when trying to reach archers.

Witcher Dev Disputes $39 Witcher 3 Promotion - GameSpot
[UPDATE] A representative for CD Projekt Red tells GameSpot that Green Man Gaming's Witcher 3 codes are coming from an "unknown source." As such, none of the revenue from Green Man Gaming's current Witcher 3 promotion will go to GOG.com or CD Projekt Red. If you'd like to buy The Witcher 3 directly from CD Projekt Red, head to the game's GOG.com page here.

Just a note about that promotion. It is very weird since GMG is not a key reseller so I wonder what is up with that.

Interdasting.. I always thought GMG was straight legit and not like kinguin or some shady reseller but guess they are. Oh and that link has geralt in a desert landscape!

I tend to believe GMG on this one (still not buying from them though, since they decline AMEX every time I've tried for some unknown reason).

The keys are obviously sourced from retail boxes, but saying they are "unknown" doesn't cut it. If they came from Europe, as "Publisher: Namco Bandai Games" on the page suggests then they are fine. If they got them from a CIS region source then CDPR's claims are justified.

After reading that gamespot follow up to me it seems like GMG went out and got some keys and are eating the mark down to spite CDPR for not letting them sell W3.

It looks to be available in every other online store so I'm not sure I totally buy GMG's reason.

Steam, Origin, and Uplay are selling it, yes--and I'm pretty sure the latter two are just giving out GOG keys. Check Amazon or other normal retailers though, and you will see that they are only allowed to sell the DVD-ROM version. If they're selling keys then they sourced them from retail boxes just like GMG did. CDPR is making a huge push for people to buy directly from GOG. I'm sure they'd love to cut Steam/Origin/Uplay out too, but they know that wouldn't fly. Well, Uplay would I suppose. I was actually surprised to see it being sold there.

Semi-related... when games are shipping on 6 or 7 DVDs I think it's time we move PCs past 2007 and start putting everything on blu-ray.

I'd go dvd-less if installing OS's from a USB drive wasn't so problematic everytime I've tried.

Are games really taking 6 and 7 dvds to install now? I haven't bought a physical pc game in so long I had no clue.

GTA V is 65gb installed on PC and comes on 7 DVDs.

Reminds me of when games used to come on a bunch of floppies, or you'd span a zip file across a bunch of discs.

As CDPR is one of the few companies that goes to such lengths for its customers. I am inclined to think that GMG was being dicks on this. Even if, CDPR wanted to support their own GOG platform. More power to em. GOG started by them resurrecting fantastic games so that they could be played on modern systems. Which is something that nobody else has really been doing. Also some true competition for Steam. Having Witcher 3 loyalty discount should be as good as it gets for day one release discount.

GMG returning to the normal pricing is kind of telling. But whatever. I just wanna play.

We have, my new PC doesn't even have a dvd or blu ray drive in it.
If I had Comcast instead of TWC, I'd have a serious problem if I downloaded PS4 or PC games that fill a bluray. I already average 300+GB a month, and that's with me buying/renting all my PS4 games on physical media, and having skipped PC games like GTA V. I'd seriously consider buying 40+GB PC games on bluray if the option was there and the price was similar to digital.

I agree with you about buying it from GOG, I just don't believe that GMG sold keys that weren't legit.

If people are really desperate to get the game cheap, they can buy an Nvidia GPU promo code off Ebay for like $20.
