As any? Surely you jest! Any is a very tall order to fill on the DC spectrum. It's like comparing Copper to Gold.

This movie was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed the action.. Good use of slow-mo, good use of WW picking up trucks and other large objects and throwing them at people, good use of just plain kneeing people so hard in the chest that they break through a wall. Story was simple but did the job.

8.5/10 As good, maybe better than any solo marvel movie, just a step below GoTG1 / Avengers 1 because it lacks that larger cast of interesting characters.

Gal Gadot was a complete bad ass as Wonder Woman in this. The intro section was good, the action awesome, and the story felt pretty epic. It could have been better, and at least a couple plot twists didn't make sense, but overall well worth the trip to the theater. Better than GotG2. My work group goes to the movies a lot. Had a chance to see GoTG2 for a second time with them and had no desire, but we may see WW this week and I'd probably go a second time to this.

After having seen it, yeah, Marvel tier 2 is a fair descriptor of this; I might even be inclined to call it tier 1.5, if you will. Not *quite* at the level of Marvel's best, but an incredibly good movie.

Now, please let this be the start of a trend for DC; if they can start consistently releasing movies on this level, they may actually be able to match Marvel on the cinematic front.

Yea i'll call it tier 1.5ish, it was entertaining. I dont know if i like Gal's acting in some of the scenes, i'm not sure if she tried to ham up her naivety of being in a new world or just poor acting. I felt like about 20 minutes of the movie could have been trimmed out, for instance the Gala scene really didn't really need to happen or the general using the strength increasing drug unless that is going to creep up in other DC movies. It was a good start leading into JL.

I thought Gadot nailed the naivety aspect, personally. Same with the, "fuck you guys, this isn't right, I'm gonna go do the right thing" parts. She's not the greatest actress ever, but she's perfect for this role. I admit I was wrong in my initial skepticism.

This was a very good movie. I agree with it being on par with mid-tier Marvel stuff. Hopefully they'll be able to maintain this quality for Justice League and Aquaman.

Glad to hear this is good. JL trailer is underwhelming. Batman v Superman was flat, its main issue was too much style over substance. Never disliked Gadot but felt the movie was going to be another BvS. Got the impression after a few ads this would turn out plot driven.

7/10. Hums along at a brisk pace without any major lag time or dead scenes. Pine stole the movie for me; perfect combo of aw-shucks and badassery. Great comic relief without feeling forced, especially the scene on the boat. Gadot was serviceable albeit a bit flat. She excelled when she wasn't saying anything and just fucking shit up. My big dig is that the villains are garbage -- aside from the final battle, their scenes felt bizarrely hammy with overwrought acting, cliche 'stabs' of intense music and stilted dialogue. They never felt scary or intimidating... or fleshed out. I gave zero shits about them and their plan.

Perfect date movie. Pretty sure my wife is now gay for Gadot. I anticipate a new subgenre of BDSM nerd porn involving the lasso of truth.

Also, holyyyyy fuuuuuck were there a lot of previews at my theater. Had to be at least 8 or 9 trailers. Took 25 minutes for the movie to start. That shit is unacceptable.

My biggest issue with the movie:

Aries looked stupid with his little fancy mustache. It was fine when he was pretending to be the British dude, but he should have lost it when he went god mode. Bad ass helmet with a fancy mustache visible underneath.

Four of us saw it together, opinions varied from ok to good. Villain was very boring and generic. Plot was kinda meh. Some action scenes were good, there were certainly otherwise good bits.

Movie is too dark in much of it. Why DC, why?

Saw it, liked it better than most of both the DC and marvel movies..not as good as avengers/ironman/TDK, better Imo than or equal to the rest.

I actually liked the way the main villain was put forth in this movie. My biggest issue with him was that the entire fight with him was a giant CGI jerk off. But yeah keeping the handlebar mustache was a bit silly.

superhero based fetish porn isn't exactly new

Anyway just saw it, thought the main villain was dumb - or at least the way he showed up.

I liked Gal Gadot but the way she wrinkles her eyebrows was distracting (only because I frown in exactly the same spot), it just felt like that was her "acting face". Although at other points, mainly the ones were the character was innocently naive, I thought she handled those scenes well

It was tier 2 Marvel--one of their solid intro movies. As someone else said, Ant-man, Cap, Strange ect but not as good as their top tier (GoTG, Avengers, Cap WS/CW). It's, in my opinion, getting a slight buff in its score from the 'first female lead!' thing, but it's not a very big shift from what it deserves. (In RT terms this is a mid 80% film, imo.)

Gal Gadot became Wonder Woman in this, though, for sure.

Lol you think CW is top tier

I would put this, on first viewing, as B-tier Marvel as well, but thinking back on it, I really don't feel like it is as re-watchable as Marvel movies tend to be. Even the shittiest Marvel movies tend to have some damn entertaining dialogue for watching again, but WW dialogue was, while not BAD, kind of bland throughout. Like, very expected. It fits in with the movie I think but hurts it in my eyes overall. I don't really have a problem with Gadot as WW, aside from the boss fight the fight scenes all looked great with her.

I do feel like the monologue at the end of the movie completely confuses the point of her not being more involved in the world the last 100 years, but it's not like any super hero thing anywhere can actually nail down plotlines.

Haven't read any reviews of this. Just got back. It wasn't bad.

The action lulled in the middle but came back strong at the end. The story was decent, the actors did an admirable job all around, and the pace was good. The humor was well played for the most part and the scene on the boat about 'sleeping with women' was actually pretty hilarious I thought. The chick who played Wonder Woman is a legit 10 and they weren't afraid to make her sexy and tough.

The feminist propaganda was subtle and tolerable. Nothing like the Ghostbusters bullshit. There was no 'dude's suck' moment in here. Well, there was from her mother, but the mother was an antagonistic character that she disagrees with on many things. The central message of the movie was that love conquers war, which is naive but permissible. One thing I really liked was her conclusion about evil. She did not conclude that some people are inherently good or inherently evil. She concluded that all people are inherently both. And that's the right answer.

Some CGI parts were cheesy and the fake accent all the Amazon women had was cringe-9000, but overall this movie was pretty good.
