Correct.
With last patch they also spread arty out up to T10, so you can calculate their matching like MT/HT/TD's. Scouts still have their own matchmaking spreads, and then some premium tanks have 'preferred' matchmaking (eg. IS-6 is a T8 premium heavy that only will be matched in T8/9 games because of it's low penetration gun).
Platoons are matched based on the "highest" tiered tank in it.

The money you can make with the month long anniversary is pretty great, get 30 kills over the course of a day get 300k credits.

Yeah I've been getting it almost everyday but I spend it just as fast haha. I picked up my IS-3 today, 3 modules, that pretty much sucked all my credits.

IS-3 is a great tank but my personal preference in T8 goes to the KV-4. Even when paired against T10's, the KV-4 can made a stand. The IS-3, not really.

Yeah I've had my KV-4 for a while now, it definitely has its moments especially when side scraping, I just can't seem to work past it to get the ST-I though which I hear is tough as hell and a far better T9 than the poor IS-8.

ST-I is a great tank. Tough as nails. It solves the one problem of the KV-4, which is the unsloped turret.

I'm swinging between thinking this is mildly fun to just cursing this game. There are about a million things that they just decided not to explain for some reason. Really liking running scout with my light tank but just get completely destroyed once I move up to medium. Every other tank is quicker, has more armor pen and does more dmg and can shoot two or three shells in the time that it takes me to reload once. Not understanding the crew leveling. It seems like it's going to take me about 60 battles to level one skill up.

The perks and skills after your crew is 100% is going to take a lot more than 60 battles, it's not linear and that last 1% to go from 99% to 100% will take a lot of matches in itself. That's why people move their crew up to the next tank and pay the gold or credits to keep them at 100% or 90% and training your crew from 90% to 100% will take a short while. I have 1500 matches in my German heavy crew and use 2 premiums to help train them and they are just starting their 4th skill/perk.

I absolutely HATED my first medium tank (t-34), so much so that I sold it and started playing heavies. It wasn't until much later that I learned the mechanics of armor and angling, I had no idea that angling was a thing I just thought armor was armor. Several months down the road though and my T-54 is one of my favorite tanks and I can't wait to get my hands on my 62a.

think that I might ditch the medium tank except when my light one gets knocked out early so i can go into another battle. As frustrating as it is to potentially get one shot I'm liking the light tank scout thing. Really liking seeing the artillery waste all of the top tier tanks while I hide in a bush then running ahead and killing their artillery when the battle passes me. Aiming for US light tanks right now, is there a better choice? Think I'll shoot for medium at the top tiers.

The chinese light tanks are all really strong imo, and that tree ends in a really good medium tank (121), the american lights get good around tier 7 and then turns into two auto loader med's (T69/T54E1) and an auto loader heavy (T57)

The chinese lights get the guns that other nations med's get while their med's get the guns of heavies, lets the lights be a real threat and offensive when they get the chance.

With the arty nerf from 8.6, you'll see a lot less of it on the battlefield. So pure scouting is a lot less important, and arty hunting isn't a big part of the game anymore either. I consider it pretty much a waste of time to hunt arty, until the game is decided.

the 30 kills for 300k thing is the bane of the game. there's so many people holding back shots to fire at 10% tanks... I get so many confederates now and it took me 3 hours for the 30 kills.

Just started playing these a few weeks ago after getting a invite/bonus code from my new video card. I've had a lot of fun so far. Anyone else still playing? I've got a couple Tier 6s so far and definitely preferring the Russian Heavy line to the British one that I started (Hate the Churchill I).
