Damn, well I tried. 26% chance to win and we almost pulled it off anyway. How I didn't get an Ace tanker from that game.. :p

Seems like every random team I am on goes down about 5-1 in the first 2 minutes. Shit's worse than DoTA.

Something I've always considered to be true.. The worst thing about WoT is the WoT playerbase. F2P really attracts the worst retards. The number of times I've pushed forward at the start of the game and got in a good position early just to have half my team stay back with popcorn and watch me get rushed and die. Then they die too because you know, derp. I found that the difference between me holding a flank like a boss and me dying like a bitch is usually the enemy's willingness to take risks. Sometimes the only reason I don't get buttfucked is they haven't moved up cause its 1v5.

Or valley idiots on Lakeville. More than half the team goes valley. They get bogged down by 1 hull down heavy. Town is a landslide victory for the other team. Now the valley idiots have to turn around and try to get back out of the valley but guess what?

My thoery on lakeville is some of the heavies can't make it to the enemy cap even if they run into zero resistance. The ground speed is sooooo slow there for a real heavy they can't get anywhere if your team is on the ball. Always seems like a Maus or Lowe go there.

The T29 used to be the shit. Nowdays a lot of the tier 8's and most tier 9's can pen your turret head on. Used to be if you got hull down and no arty you were a god. Period. I still play mine occasionaly and it's a good tank, just not the go it used to be. Suprised it only took 2.5k of damage and some spotting to get a master in it the other day.

The knobs come out of the woodwork on weekends and after work hours...which is a pretty obvious thing to say. I have my best games early in the morning up to about mid day.

It seems only about 65% of the players grasp the concept of evenly split flanks. Defending on Karelia shows this. It's a complete turkey shoot if the defenders don't split flanks. A lot of times, it's people with 2k+ games that still haven't learned basic gameplay mechanics or the maps, or even what role their tank is supposed to be playing.

Lakeville is a joke about half the time. As you said, valley becomes heavy-heavy leaving the town wide open. You only really need one TD and a good medium to hold the valley, or three just average players. Then send two TD's up lake road and the rest to town. The only exception to valley is when there is a wolf pack (or two) ready to completely roll valley without even slowing down...that's pretty rare though, and you never see it coming.

I can usually tell how the match is going to play out just by watching who goes where at the start of the game (another obvious thing).

I wish they'd delete Erlenberg, Sacred Valley and Wide Park. Just awful maps.

I've been trying to play LT a lot to try to help out in a scouting role. It seems like a lot times I get my shit shoved in if I try scout forward slightly. The mediums hang back and watch me take it. If I stay back, I feel like I am less useful in a scouting role and, about 60% of the time, my team is down 5 kills really fast.

It seems like there is a really narrow band between too pussy to help and #yolo death. My rating got up to about 2200 and then went to shit over a few play sessions.

EDIT - One more thing. It is a HUGE pain in the ass to get into a group, in the low levels at least.

I'm best at scouts...60% WR on my newb ones..M5 and Chaffee. It helps to see where people are headed off to at the start of the match. It doesn't do you any good to scout for people that aren't behind you. Also...camo on everything. Many times, I've sat in a bush in my Chaffee so close to passing enemies that I could strike a match on their hulls, yet they never saw me.

Another thing, don't charge so far ahead of people that they can't help you if you accidentally find a crapload of reds. It also helps to plan your moves in advance and go from cover to cover. Avoid taking potshots early in the game, that just lets everyone know where you are and everyoneloves shooting at scouts. After about halfway through the game, you can take a more active support role and start putting lead into the flanks of tanks if you keep moving. A dead scout is a worthless scout. A well-played scout can bea real pain in the assto everyone on the red team....this is your job.

Once you get the hang of the maps and staying alive, you can work on being more active in terms of damage. I rarely take a shot on my M5, but I regularly put out 700+ on my Chaffee or top5 on team in terms of damage.

LT's like the Chaffee and ELC AMX are awesome red team trollers, just gotta have a little patience at the start to do well.

So the camo skins actually have an effect in that they help hide you from being spotted? They're not just cosmetic? Is there some way to select an appropriate skin after you know the map?

Also, I read something about camo nets but I haven't seen them yet...

You have camo paint = 5% to camo rating. Pointless on say...heavies, good on TD's and scouts and everything else.
You have a camo net = 25% to camo rating after stopped for 3 seconds and remaining stationary.
You have crew camo skills = what ever % boost after xp.

My Chaffee has camo net/paint/camo skill on three crew. All my TD's have camo gear and camo skills on all crew = invisitanks. My T37 has no camo gear/crew skills, because I play it very aggressively...always shooting and moving.

I have camo paint on everything because it looks cool.

Also, I'd say camo on an ELC AMX is pointless. Those things are that their best always moving and shooting.
2 things, scouts keep camp bonuses while moving and any scout needs to be able to passive scout at times in a match.

I'm guessing that platooning would go a long way towards getting more decent games. I has no friends QQ.
16,000 games and I haven't platooned one time. At one time I had a 53% overall win rate and a 1350ish WN8. Now it's slipped a whole lot because I frankly don't give a shit. If a team is 19% to win and then they go all one way and then stop 2 grids away I don't waste my time. Other examples equally apply. Apparently the sure sign of a crap team is not only their win rate , but if you get a game with multiple spanish speak platoons at the start forget it.

I run a mode, but I thought they have added "last spot" to the game now...because people still ask a lot in chat where X was last spotted.

One thing I will add it's really annoying to be a slowe/slower tank in a game made up of mostly the newer faster tanks (compared to the old tanks they are much more manuaverable and have a much higher rate of fire) and they can't play for bitching about you not moving fast enough or charging. When you're slow and have a slow rate of fire charging a lot of times really isn't much of an option. Apparently with the new tanks a lot of people have never played those tanks now.

It's amazing the things you see people do at tiers they should have learned not do several tiers earlier. Tonight in my E50M at full health a bulldoh tried to ram me while he had a good head of steam coming down hill....He went from full health to having 15hps. So 900+ from ramming, ramming in a light tank? Ramming a tank known for it's ram ability?

Stuff like that I have no patience for. I don't care if you're not a great player, just don't the obviously stupid and you'll be OK. I'm not a great player by any stretch, just try not to do the obviously stupid. Another is someone will charge into 4+ already lit tanks and sit still in front of them firing at one while the other 4 kill them in seconds...what did they think would happen? Another is a light or medium comes upon a tank at low health alone and instead of flanking and shooting in the side or ass they sit right fucking in front of their gun and try to trade shots when they are more manuaverable etc...I love watching a light or medium go head to head sitting dead fucking still bouncing shot after shot to die and not from an outside tank - just the one they were shooting at. Shit like that burns me up.

Another I've noticed just recently as I don't play a lot of autoloaders is people pull up in front of you while you are firing - have a tank tracked and art killing it and they sit there and sit there reloading while they are blocking your shot. Only recently started playing an autoloader. I can't count the number of times someone pulled in front of my bulldoh that was tracking a tank someone else could shoot or I was tracking and killing and they just sit there and wait to reload while I had 9 more shots left in my clip.

Camo is huge, like you said you keep the same bonus moving as sitting still. No reason to NOT get camo early on maybe only behind sixth sense for the commander.

I will add apparently I added gold camo to my E75 at some point because it never goes away. Good thing I play it still alot. Only need 140ish more battles on the crew to finish the 6th skill which had shared time coming up the line and then to the Lowe as a money maker when comparitively it wasn't as slow as it is now. Still not unusal when I break it out to get 110k a game and sometimes more.

Fury drivers always get pantsed in the most humiliating ways. A Luchs driver completely obliterated a Fury, and did a To All: "Best job I ever had."

I had a pretty good laugh at that.

Im with you on the never platooning part, Borzak. Unfortunately, not platooning or being involved in a clan and the activities that comes with it are making this game boring after a while. Probably why most people think I'm a reroll with under 4000 games to my name even though I have a 2011 account. I'm still managing to keep a Wn8 of almost 2k in the last 1000 battles. I'm quite surprised my total WN8 is 1600 considering the amount of times I stopped playing and picked the game up again and having to get my play to a respectable level every time.

Grinding the 197k exp for the AMX30 in the 13 90 is making me want to slit my wrists even more than usual. God, I can't play that thing to save my life. Too reliant on other people unfucking themselves and actually doing things. Like I just had a game on Fjords in my 13/90. Me a T29 and an E75 were on the southern peninsula chokepoint vs 1 enemy E75. I decided I'd just charge his ass down and he would either get me shooting him in the ass or the 2 other dudes would. I drive in, circle behind him, he turns around and fucks me because neither the E75 or the T29 came out. Fucking pussies got killed one by one after that. Internet tanks are hard.
