I guess the counter argument of barrier to entry is keeping old raids relevant but wasn't that what the 20 mans were developed for? Gear catchup? Wasn't Karazhan developed initially as a 20 man for Naxx catchup gear?

Another big aspect of Classic for me is there are no fucking Death Knights, no faggot Blood elf’s or Crash Landing Alien Space Goats, there are no fucking Jack Black Kung Fu Panda mother fuckers, no emo illidan wannabe Demon Hunters... “what have you given” Jesus fuck eat a dick.

But most of all once again you are just a random adventurer. You aren’t king shit champion chosen one supreme lord of the cut scene, that shit is gayer than 8 dudes blowing 9 dudes.
I remember the shock when Burning Crusade was revealed with High Elves for Horde and Demons for Alliance, totally left field. It seemed potentially kinda cool, but ideas like that every expansion made the game into a cartoon. Everyone was expecting High Elves for Alliance and maybe Ogres or Goblins for Horde.

Worgen I think are fine, just force human form in cities. Goblins are obviously fine.

Pandas I didn't mind, I liked Pandaria and the expansion as a whole. I think in hindsight a smaller Pandaria with Zandalar, Undermine and Kul'Tiras to mix up the themes would have been better. Those zones were predicted before Cataclysm and Pandaria and they kept subverting expectations, doing a basic Alliance lore zone like Kul'Tiras AFTER Argus is madness.

The random adventurer stuff is key, the game started having too much plot development which led to convoluted inconsistent lore and everything being on rails to get plot points in the right order. Less quests, more things to do in the world and less story please. They should have done a Warcraft 4 RTS if they wanted to move the story on.

I would like to see them add the expansion stuff later but rebalance them not to be such a huge jump in power as to make all the shit before it irrelevant. Basically use the EQ method of adding in content. IDK, just a thought. I really hate to see all the wasted content when they rolled out the new shit every time. Like greens in tbc being more powerful than vanilla raid shit, and so on.

Why did he hate monks?

It's been a long time, but I remember him basically thinking they were too good in EQ1 from an AC and damage perspective and felt warriors needed to be buffed a lot more.

I think even having a 20 man mythic raid team was too much. We talk a lot a out how a 10 man mythic raid team would feel infinitely better. Better chance of finding 10 people that don't suck as opposed to 20 as opposed to 25 as opposed to 40

You don't want an MMO if you only want to group with 9 other people.

I think Noodle is saying he hates everyone and wants to raid alone.

Those aren't "raids," they're small group content. The less people you are forced to interact with the smaller your world becomes.

What number constitutes an MMO?

Raids in FFXIV are 8 people

There were people we raided with that really made me hate my job lol
I think you want a mix.

40 man for raid finder type stuff so you can have some dead weight. Put your story bosses in here.

~10-20 for serious raiding.

Have it all drop the same item level but the casuals will get less gear because there'll be more people to share and less bosses to drop gear.

When you try to drop down from say 25 to 10 to try heroic Rag you end up pissing off people that aren't allowed in the 10 man. People quit, then you can't even do 25's anymore.

Are people saying you can't design challenging 40 man content? My vanilla server had 3 Naxx clearing guilds and TONS of guilds on all levels below that. For some reason many guilds that couldn't clear Naxx could still manage to get 40 people together to do the other raids and keep trying to progress.

When you need that many people in a guild your guild chat is much more active, shit is always going on. It actually feels like a community, you have to depend on other people to get shit done.

If you want a game that caters to smaller raids I think you're looking for a game called Battle For Azeroth.

No you said it wasn't an MMO at 10-20, so is 40 the right number?

Any guild I've been a part of has felt like a community fr vanilla to bfa

You're right it's pointless to argue with faggots whose Pinnacle of raiding was vanilla wow
