Count me in as one of the old farts that don't get it. I couldn't stand sitting there watching someone play as a kid waiting for my turn on whatever game on the Atari/Nintendo, certainly can't stand it now. If I want to be amused by people acting retarded, I come here, read a few threads, or hell just walk out the front door these days.

Easiest way to understand it is if you're into sports, the idea of watching an athlete fuck around while doing something associated with the sport, or in the case of someone that isn't that good: Watching a comedian or entertainer you like fuck around playing a sport you enjoy to watch. Also, sometimes people just want someone talking in the background.

I didn't get it really that much either, and I'm 36, but a couple years ago I was in a job that had a lot of downtime. In that downtime I couldn't play games, as I was on a work computer, but I could watch Twitch. That's when it clicked, at least a little bit.
But it's no different than I'm not into sports, so I don't understand why people spend so many hours watching Sports. Do you watch Sports? Why? Because you're watching something you can't do yourself? For some, not all, it's that way with games. You watch someone that's fucking great at a game. Again, that's not all people, but some of them.

No. I don't watch football. Or baseball. And for the record I did play football. And baseball. I wasnt much above average which is why I never played beyond high school but I did play.

It doesn't sexually stimulate me. I enjoy watching it for the same reasons I enjoy watching the NFL, it's entertaining. I can't imagine how worthless and boring your life must be. How old were you when you got married, and had your first kid?

Football sucks to watch, just like golf. Personal preference, not an argument. Just like watching someone stream a game is boring as fuck to me.
I like watching hockey, and usually play with friends once or twice a month during fall/winter. We don't video ourselves fucking around while we play. When I go to the driving range, I don't video myself there either. Why? Because I'm an average joe when it comes to that shit, and no one actually cares that I can do the same shit as millions of other people. I don't want to sit there and watch random chuckleheads play hockey, or watch anyone drive golfballs repeatedly either. I most certainly don't want to watch randomguild23657 raid Onyxia, or some dude tossing players into the lava in BRM.
I suppose that's the real reason I roll my eyes at the whole concept. Not the handful of successful streamers, or those that watch them, but the millions that have turned it into the new "post pics of my food on FB" narcissistic me-me-me type shit. It's just another form of social media now, and that shit is cancer on society.
We have grown ass men on this forum older than I am, that obsess over anime, and collect pillows, and whatever other creepy shit. I don't care about that either. If they were trying to stream themselves jerking it to a new Tifa bodypillow each day, I'd mock them too.
I really don't want the knowledge someone here actually does this, please.
