Unless they do a total seperation rule set, PVE should always take priority over PVP. Mmo PVP is always a swinging pendulum of nerfs and OP.

They really should think about some sort of premade toon for pvp. Don't they realize they can't solve the balance issues? There are only so many patches and adjustments to make before you realize that its not a good system. You don't have to take progression away, but maybe, just maybe the game would work better.

I also think its funny that they got me fired up working for gear then took away all the reasons I wanted the gear. I had already programmed myself to grind and wear purples and hadn't noticed they didn't mean anything anymore. It wasn't until recently that I realized, "wait a second, why the fuck am I still doing this?"

Does it really matter if people grind honor thru jp conversions? Besides the wep, pve gear is better anyway, until you start getting tyrannical. Also, where are people getting this stat about 50% of the subs being from the west? I didn't see anything that specifies where a percentage of those subs were coming.

I don't care how people get their honor.. I care that for me it makes more sense in a efficiency standpoint that I PVE for PVP gear that I use to try to get more PVP gear. It seems dumb.

you can try joining one of the many premade groups, there is/was a mod called OQueue that was sort of like LFD for premade PVP and arenas. With 100% win rates and groups that farm for honor, you can get ridiculous amounts very fast.

You can only get conquest points if you win, right? So your pvp progression will be extremely limited only getting honor points. My battlegroup is the worst, I can play all day and get 0 wins. Shouldn't it be ~50%? Nah, seems paranoid, but I it doesn't surprise me that wow only offers bad experiences when I'm logged in. I can't tell you the last time I was enjoying it and not just playing compulsively, or habitually.

It really fucks with you mentally. "Oh the game will be good when I get X." Huge uphill battle for X and then you get it, and lo and behold, it doesn't make fuck all difference in pvp and you still get pwnt.

Doesn't matter in PVE because they completely trivialized raid gear. In vanilla that gear was used in world pvp to keep the other faction from getting to the instance to raid. But now you got summoning stones and whatnots. What a fucking turn for the worst the game had starting at the first expansion.
You get conquest by winning, but much easier and faster through arena. My DK hit 90, did a few LFR and collected some gear that first week, then spammed arenas and was tyrannicalled out in no time. 180 for a win, nearly instant queues and who gives a shit if you lose a 30 second match. Way better than bashing your head in BGs or rated matches. As someone suggested, I would download the OQueue addon and join premades for everything, RBG's, pug BG's, heroic scenarios (should do 1 everyday), all the world bosses, etc. Really beats finding random noobs on your server especially if its low population.

With the gear changes in this pvp season its not like tyrannical totally decimates PVE gear either. Everyones resil is 65% and PVP power got nerfes into the ground. So their only saving grace for PVP was to scale arena/bg's to ilvl496

I'll check that out, as if the game was fun, I'd like it.

I need to roll Blood with you when virtual servers come up so we can just watch people AFK out and collect our gear. Maybe after I'm married I can actually play (said every man ever).

I've been thinking of moving it back to your server, since I don't really WPVP there much anymore, and not in a guild that I care about. I have an 87 lock that I've been working on your server too, it should be 90 in a day, then we can do stuff in a few days if you're around. Gearing a fresh toon is fun and painless nowadays. You pretty much skip the whole sequence used at the beginning of the xpac

I honestly don't get the fanaticism over LoL and Dota 2. I mean the high points of those experiences sound great: coordinating with teammates against your opponent in a war of attrition where every battle can tip the scales in your favor. But to get to that point you have to trudge through tedious farming and some of the most non-intuitive game mechanics ever created, just because that's how the original Dota did it. I'm a hero, so to improve my strength and begin my path towards being a warrior of legend I ... follow creeps around and try not to get hit, once in a while stealing a kill for a couple gold. Yeah fun. Until someone can make the early game of a moba feel as fun as the end game looks, I'm sitting this fad out.

Sorry for the side rant.

summoning stones were introduced in vanilla and they weren't responsible for what you meant, its the instant zoning into a dungeon when a group is formed via LFD (late WotLK) and LFR (late Cataclysm)

They didn't change meeting stones to perform summoning for a long time, to my recollection. Originally they were for setting your bind/hearth point back in I think Classic Alpha, then some function I forget (either flagged you LFG or became scenery for a while), THEN they became the help-you-summon device outside dungeon and raid points, though mostly the latter.

I remember using them to summon raid members when we were doing Tempest Keep back before Black Temple opened I think. Its had that functionality for a long long time anyways. Here we go:http://www.wowwiki.com/Meeting_Stonesays 2.0.1 they were re-worked to summon which was released December 2006 which was BEFORE Burning Crusade though just before.

They were reworked because original meeting stones were a shitty mechanic. You had to fly to the stone at the dungeon, queue yourself on a lfg list, then wait. If it was a remote dungeon, it made it hard to recruit in zone and warlocks were the only summons option, which still required people to be there to assist summon.

In late Vanilla/early TBC they changed them to summon stones so you could recruit in places with people and then summon the stragglers.

Yeah. Anyone that argues against the meeting stone revamp is an asshole. Even then pugs were all "which two saps are gonna go to the stone for the other three lazy buttmunches"
