Even guilds that normally just outgear fights before they kill them (like mine) have to keep larger rosters and rotate people in and out for fights. So it's not just bleeding edge in Nighthold that are required to do that. It's any guild that wants to go higher than 3/10M.
Nighthold is tuned incredibly poorly. I understand they want to give the bleeding edge some form of competition early on but the instance has been out for months now, the top end guilds are all 10/10 and have been for weeks, they need to reel this raid instance in. It's a guild killer. The botanist strategy is to literally have people suicide in the last phase when they get the debuff so if anyone dies in the first 2 phases you're pretty much screwed and may as well just reset the encounter. You really need both battle rezzes in the last phase to be able to kill him and you need to be fortunate enough to not have 2-3 of your healers get the debuff in the last phase.
Krosus' burning pitch mechanic is entirely too random as well. There are attempts where the pools are close enough together that most people can soak 2 or more and you end up with only 2-3 adds. Then there are other attempts where the pools spawn completely spread out and even if everyone is soaking you still end up with 6-7 adds. It's not fun playing well and still having no shot of winning and you can't really outgear these fights unless you're a 7-8/10 guild.
And inevitably what happens is people get frustrated because you're 80 pulls into progression on a boss and still making no progress. And a lot of it doesn't even have to do with people playing poorly, it's just that hard. So people start to point the finger for no reason at all and get upset with each other.
