Don't forget that there is still 5.3 valor gear and earlier which you can buy. I think they removed the rep requirement from most vendors for the most part.
The 522 valor stuff still takes valor, but the earlier rep stuff is all JP now so really easy to get.

They upped the drop rate considerably on ToT so it's worth running it before SoO. I had 10 mogu coins saved up on my DK but didn't really need them. After running each wing once I had 2 piece t15, a weapon, a trinket and a few various other upgrades that easily added another 20-30k dps over my timeless + heroic shit gear. If everyone did this SoO LFR dps wouldn't be so utterly miserable and require 3 determination stacks to down each boss.
Excuse my ignorance, what the fuck is a determination stack?

In LFR if your raid wipes on a boss but was engaged for at least something like 2 minutes or something you get a determination buff that ups stats/damage/healing by a small percentage. It stacks. So if a raid wipes 5 times you have 5 stacks of it and everyone has 25 percent more health, does 25 percent more damage and heals etc.

It's not a guarantee either. I have wiped on nazgrim with 5 stacks. It made me question my sanity.

Thank you for the info, I wasn't aware it's possible to wipe in LFR, doesn't match my old experiences with it. I guess with the new Flex system, nobody worth a damn is doing LFR anymore, huh? Pretty baffling.

I'll have to pick up openraid.

I farmed the shit out of timeless isle, picked up all of the chests, and managed to get up to 480 ilevel within 24 hours after hitting 90. Capped out valor and I've run the first 4 LFR instances. Trying to get through as many as possible before the reset. Landed 3 pieces of the Sha-Skin set, so I'm rocking 2 of those for the set bonus, though I really didn't look at how much damage Incinerate is doing.

Still have green quest trinket/ring/belt. Hopefully I'll be able to get rid of those soon. Seems like every goddamn token that I get is plate or mail. Sitting on 9 pieces of mail armor and 6 place pieces. Strangely, the chest that was supposed to always give the burden ended up giving me a trinket instead. I was stoked, until later on today I ended up with two more.
It's time to claim your manhood, and get your Green Fire, bro.

Anyone got a scroll of resurection they wouldn't mind sending out? Haven't played since right before Cata, and just want to see what's going on. Can send it to Turgresh on Maelstrom.

If you've never wiped a ton in LFR, then you clearly never did LFR Garalon 1.0.

EDIT: Although I guess determination didn't exist then either.

I'm yet to even kill the dark shaman or nazgrim, I haven't been in a LFR that could down the shaman boss in ~4 wipes so i'd just leave.
ain't nobody got time fo' dem tards.

Thok should make Nazgrim/Dark Shamans seem like a blessing in LFR.

But seriously. Forget LFR.

Load up oQueue or Openraid. Even if you have crap for gear, you can probably find a ToT to run to get some gear so you can get into the SoO flex runs.

It definitely looks like the majority of semi-decent players who would do LFR are Flexing instead. Additionally Blizz made the retarded decision to tune SoO for players who should have at least ToT LFR gear stats but because of the horribly itemized Timeless shit, people are now queuing with completely shit gear. Not only is it shit, it's not gemmed, or enchanted or reforged half of the damn time because hey throw-away gear right? So even though people are managing to dodge the fire, the majority are just flat out undergeared and it's requiring multiple stacks of determination to compensate. They either need to nerf it a bit or up the minimum iLvl to like 510 or something.

This isn't new though, hell many of them won't gem/enchant/reforge when they get their LFR gear either. I am tempted to snag a Scroll of Rez and check the shit out for a week but I have a feeling I would just be disappointed.

I'm playing more WoW now than I was in its heyday. There's so much to do, way more content than any other mmo I've played (except maybe EQ I guess). If you're bored with the combat of one role, try another. A lot of specs, even in the same class, have a different feel to them. I used to exclusively love playing a prot pal and everything else was just an alt. These days I'm enjoying playing a frost mage and destro lock more than anything.

Still having a blast after the 7 days free sucked me back in sometime this spring.
Even did LFR a few times and started the Legendary Quest. This will take a while I guess.
I also decided to try for the world events mount, and some other stuff that kills boatloads of time. Got Skadi's protodrake earlier this week. Finished Thunderfury on my warlock (heh). Rolled a BM Monk on Alliance for Double Agent. Collecting battle pets like a madman.

The only thing I still haven't gotten a hang of though, monies, how do I make them. Guess it's my spending habits. Got up to almost 30k, then bought the merchant mount (from wotlk), a few pets, invested some in AH stock (frostcloth yay), and suddenly I only had 3k left. The frostcloth market didn't develop like I anticipated so I'm sitting on 100 stacks of that too.
My alliance toon is a miner, prices are ok there, but alliance population on my server sucks. Meh.

When you figure it out, let me know. The AH metagame isn't my style. I'm down to maybe 17k now.

Having all or at least most trade skilled maxed if the first thing to making money. I typically sell my gems on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting around 7 o'clock, and I sell my crafted pvp gear starting Saturday around noon. You always want to sell the newest trade skill stuff as soon as possible so forget about keeping that Sky Golem it wont bring the same amount of gold two months from now. Enchants at this point aren't worth too much because of over saturation of the market, but come a new expansion they make a lot of money. I never was into the buy low sell high scheme, but it can be profitable. I'm satisfied making 1,000 to 2,000 gold a day at this point in MoP's lifecycle. You really make the most money at the start of new patches or the start of new expansions then ride the wave from there on out.

How hard are you guys finding it to find Flex pugs? Kinda getting the itch to play but Flex sounds like the only way to go for weekly raid shits.

Register at Openraid and you will be able to find a flex no problem. In the span of about 15 minutes, I joined a cross-realm Ordos kill, then a cross-realm Flex raid.
